WRITERS ON THE BEAT: Acclaimed Bestseller JA Jance discusses her 70th NOVEL

from Writers On The Beat: Crime Writers and Crime Fighters · host Gavin Reese

Perennial NYT bestseller JA Jance steps into the Interrogation Room to clear up a few things about her writing and craft. JA started writing in the 60's when women were supposed to be teachers and nurses. In 1968, a publisher expressed interest in a children's story she'd written, but the public didn't read her novels until 1985 with the release of her first JP Beaumont story, entitled UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY. Since the beginning of that series, JA's released 70 fictions in 4 series and a book of autobiographical poetry. Her latest Beaumont release is entitled SINS OF THE FATHERS and releases on 24-Sept. For this episode, JA and Writers On The Beat host Gavin Reese discussed her lifelong intent to write; the terrifying inspiration for her novels; how she met "Homicide Hunter" LT Joe Kenda; and keeping her aging characters authentic for the times and their personalities.
