雅思口语P2 Describe a time you made a promise to someone(文字版)

The time that I used to make a promise to someone was that I told my mom I will give up smoking. You know, actually, I've promise her that I would get rid of smoking in my life. For me, I've had this habit for several years, since I used to suffer from heavy workload and severe pressure. I mean this is why I like to smoke each day in the past. For me, it wasn't easy to get rid of it seriously, since I have to make up my mind to do it. I have tried many times and methods to do it, like some candies, gums something that can be put into my mouth but I wasn't successful to do it. I sometimes smoke, not that often. A couple weeks ago, I got an opportunity to talk to my mom. She tried to persuade me and let me say no to my cigarettes. More importantly, currently I am living with my parents. I have to listen to them. My mom dislikes smoking at all. It's not healthy by the way. Eventually, I accepted her advice and until now, smoking is not a part of my life. I can say now I am not interested in smoking. So that's it.
