Yet 42 - Write the Story You Want to Read with author Suzy Langevin

from The Write Mindset with T.C. BurrChange your mind. Write your book. · host T.C. Burr

This week on the Yet podcast I sat down with romance author Suzy Langevin. Suzy majored in English Literature and has been writing her entire life, but at first she didn't think her writing rose to the level of importance as some of the great authors she had been reading. She realized, though, that she didn't have to be ashamed of liking things because she liked them, and she quickly realized that writing "just a love story" had the power to talk about deeper issues like mental health, family dysfunction, etc. Now all-in as a romance author, she writes the stories she wants to read, and she believes that everyone deserves a happy ending. Listen in as Suzy and I discuss: The power of the written word Overcoming the challenge of writing as a full time social worker and mom The importance of getting something on paper Being open to letting things unfold in your stories and more! Mentioned on this episode: Romancing the Beat by Gwen Hayes The **** No One Tells You About Writing podcast Connect with Suzy: suzylangevin.com @suzylangevinwrites About T.C. Burr After years of putting it off, I have started writing my debut novel—a story about friendship, and about growing up. It follows the lives of a group of young men as they navigate the world between two mountainous seasons of life, with all the twists, turns and trials that come with growing up. Through this podcast, I aim to highlight inspiring stories from fellow writers, entrepreneurs, and creatives, offering encouragement and practical advice for those pursuing their own creative and business ventures.
