Yet 44 - Get your stories into the world with author Carmen Norris
from The Write Mindset with T.C. BurrChange your mind. Write your book. · host T.C. Burr
This week on the podcast I interviewed author Carmen Norris. Carmen loves stories and storytelling, and has for her entire life. Her debut novel, The Offer came out in July of 2024. Started writing songs and poetry, and early in life she started writing novels. A couple years ago she decided she just wanted to get her books out there. Just wanted her stories in the world. She thought it was going to be traditional publishing but ended up taking the self-publishing route. She wanted The Offer to be her debut even though she had written a lot of books - but this story felt unique. Listen in to this amazing conversation where Carmen and I discuss: - Her process of capturing ideas with multiple collection systems - Her husband as her biggest fan and encourager - Her best advice to new authors - Seeing her book on a Barnes & Noble shelf for the first time - and more! Connect with Carmen @authorcarmennorris on social media About T.C. Burr After years of putting it off, I have started writing my debut novel—a story about friendship, and about growing up. It follows the lives of a group of young men as they navigate the world between two mountainous seasons of life, with all the twists, turns and trials that come with growing up. Through this podcast, I aim to highlight inspiring stories from fellow writers, entrepreneurs, and creatives, offering encouragement and practical advice for those pursuing their own creative and business ventures. A dream left on the shelf is one of life's greatest regrets. Today's a great day to get started. It's not that you haven't done it, it's just that you haven't done it yet.
