Your Legacy – Caregiver or Care Receiver? – Darlene Greene

from Connected Leaders Academy

Connected Leaders Academy In this speech, retired U.S. Navy Commander and health advocate Darlene Greene reframes longevity through a question most people avoid until it’s too late: Will you spend the final decade of your life receiving care—or still capable of giving it? Drawing on insights from leading longevity experts and real-world caregiving experience, Darlene challenges the myth that independence is preserved later in life. Instead, she shows how strength, mobility, balance, cognitive resilience, and cellular health must be built decades earlier to maintain independence, dignity, and quality of life as we age. The session highlights the often-overlooked role of chronic stress, caregiver burnout, and declining cellular repair in accelerating loss of independence. Attendees will learn why caregivers frequently experience worse health outcomes than those they care for, and how symptom-focused medical approaches can fall short without addressing recovery and resilience at the cellular level. Through compelling stories and practical, science-backed strategies—including emerging non-drug approaches that support the body’s innate repair mechanisms—this talk inspires proactive action. Participants leave with a renewed sense of urgency, clarity, and hope, empowered to invest in their health today so they can remain strong, independent, and fully present for the people they love tomorrow. Darlene Greene is a retired Navy Commander with 32+ years of executive leadership across military, technology, and education. She’s served as Vice President of Strategic Technology Partnerships at McAfee, Dean of Culver Girls Academy, and Director of Client Services for HyeTech Networks and Security. During her 20-year Navy career, she earned an MBA and held three Commanding Officer roles, including base commander for 1,200 personnel. She also founded the nationally recognized Returning Warrior Workshop, helping service members and spouses reintegrate and reclaim wellness. A sought-after keynote speaker and guest on 100+ podcasts, Darlene co-authored the 2024 best-seller Become Empowered: Echoes of Grace and Strength and the 2025 book Your Body Powers Your Dreams. Today, she helps people restore vitality at the cellular level—empowering more than 700 clients to reclaim energy and pursue their biggest dreams—because when the body heals, everything else becomes possible. Solving for Change MOBIA Technology Innovations Solving for Change welcomes business and technology leaders to share stories of bold business transformation within complex organizations. In an era when technology and markets are changing around businesses, the key to staying competitive is to evolve in response to those changes.  MOBIA’s Mike Reeves and Marc LeBlanc investigate business transformation, deconstructing the challenges, ambitions, and market disruptions that drive companies to embark on transformation journeys, and exploring their unique approaches to achieving meaningful outcomes.  What sparks leaders to pursue business transformation? How do they overcome the challenges along the way? What are the keys to creating enduring change?  Through in-depth conversations with business and technology leaders, Mike and Marc answer these questions and explore how businesses evolve by pulling four key transformation levers: people, process, technology, and culture. NEWMORROW SESSIONS - A PodCast Series on the Future of Hospitality Mario C. Bauer, Florian Schneider, Axel Weber & Dr. Tillman Bardt The Newmorrow PodCast is more than a podcast — it's a platform for open dialog on the future of our business, a platform for those building what doesn’t exist yet. Here, we share and embrace our passion for the hospitality industry, but we won’t romanticize the journey. We ask the tough questions, confront uncomfortable truths, and prepare for a future that resists easy answers. We believe that the tougher and wilder times become, the more openly, honestly and humanely people need to talk to each other and act together. We believe, openness, togetherness, and truthfulness should also be cornerstones of a professional community to develop our utopian idea of „open source“. This is a space where visionaries don’t just imagine the future — they wrestle with the paradoxes that shape it: success vs. happiness, data vs. instinct, stability vs. reinvention. Join leaders, entrepreneurs, and thinkers as they share not what made them — but what’s actively shaping them, now and next.
