This episode is about courage, reinvention, and taking the road less travelled. Proud Larrakia and Meriam Mir storyteller Aaliyah-Jade Bradbury begins her journey in a plumbing supply store, steel caps on and hair in a “don’t talk to me” bun. On the surface, it was just a job. But beneath the routine was a quiet ache, the feeling that life was slowly shrinking her world. Aaliyah’s story is a powerful reminder that dreams rarely come wrapped in certainty. Through a single moment by the water with a friend, she begins to see that the life she is living is not the one she is meant for. That moment becomes the catalyst for a leap into the unknown — trading stability for possibility, and eventually, walking a path that would lead to her becoming the first Indigenous woman to win an International Emmy.
