Episode 327:  Wage inflation is good for those that are productive.  That’s because inflation is price beneficial to all appreciating assets, which includes productive employees and companies.  If you’re a quality high performing employee, then you should be using the pressures of wage inflation to secure a pay raise.  But you probably won’t get it unless you ASK for it.  So make sure your achievements are being recognized and then aggressively ask for the pay increase that you rightly deserve. Episode 317:  The national debt is at astronomical levels, the deficit is larger than tax revenues, the Chinese are dumping Treasuries, the FED is creating trillions of dollars out of thin air…I’m not concerned.  The US can handle the current debt load. Budgeting is a plan for failure.  Optimistic biased budgets encourage people to spend what they can “afford”.  Inevitably things go awry.  Unforeseen expenses cause a deficit that usually ends up on a credit card. Stop thinking in terms of Emergency Funds…start thinking in terms of saving for an Opportunity Fund. Episode 214:  I receive many questions asking if people stuck in dead-end jobs should go back to school.  We’ll discuss that topic in this episode.  It all boils down to ROI- return on investment…which in this case should include both the tuition as well as opportunity costs. In a lot of cases, NO…it does not make sense to go back to school.  But that doesn’t mean that you should stop learning or achieving demonstrable skills. You also need to learn to MARKET yourself.
