The AI Agent Index is a newly created public database documenting agentic AI systems, which are AI systems that can plan and execute complex tasks with minimal human intervention. The index provides a structured framework to document these systems' technical components, intended uses, and safety features. The AI Agent Index analyzed 67 deployed agentic AI systems based on publicly available data and developer correspondence and found that developers provide more information about capabilities and applications than about safety and risk management. This database aims to improve public understanding, inform developers, support auditors and policymakers, and raise overall awareness regarding agentic AI systems. The resource serves as a snapshot of the field and is intended to be a starting point for future research and governance efforts, especially as these systems become more prevalent.
