Fran O'Hanlon acquired the name AJIMAL in the aftermath of being caught up in Haiti following the 2010 earthquake. AJIMAL's second LP, As It Grows Dark / Light, is an exploration of the ideas of terror and wonderment and was co-produced with Guy Massey (Spiritualized, The Beatles, Bill Fay). His music has won support from Tom Robinson at BBC 6 Music, Phil Taggart at Radio 1, John Kennedy at Radio X and Jason Kramer at KCRW. AJIMAL's live show encompasses elements of both soaring grandeur and pin drop intimacy. Above All Else, Be Kind
Written and performed by Fran O’Hanlon (AJIMAL) Produced by Guy Massey and Fran O'Hanlon Artwork by drømsjel. All rights reserved. ⓟ & ©AJIMAL 2020. Watch the video, featuring friends, musicians and medics, filmed in isolation during the Covid-19 pandemic - https://youtu.be/Dkyurn562H8 There is a wind of spite that chills There is a song-less sky of still If I were struggling for breath, who’d clasp me close? Who’d bear my breathing As I gasped in death? There is a dark that light can’t kill Within the blinding fear it fills If I were huddling for warmth, who’d clean my clothes? Who’d share their blankets? Or would I freeze alone? This is not difficult or radical This is fundamental. This is pivotal. This is the most important: Be kind Be gentle Be mild, be simple Be patient, be peaceful But above all else, be kind There is a thirst no substance can quench There is a hunger that will not be silent If you were famished, your children unfed Who’d sit you down to share their table? Who would share their bread? This is not difficult or radical This is fundamental. This is critical. This is the single most important: Be kind Be gentle Be mild, be simple Be patient, be peaceful But above all be kind Be humble Show mercy, show caring Don’t hate or hide, Don’t let fears divide Above all else, Above all else, Be kind [email protected] www.ajimal.co.uk @ajimalmusic

ANIMALS - Single edit
Written and performed by Fran O’Hanlon (AJIMAL) Produced by Guy Massey and Fran O'Hanlon Artwork by drømsjel. All rights reserved. ⓟ & ©AJIMAL 2020 under exclusive license to Wow & Flutter Records. All things, full of life Born to see, to feel, to speak All things, quick forgot, all unique Nothing’s ever learned all that long Until it’s gone, Till a tide turns and in the silence stirs A violence feigning sleep Don't you pull me in Don't you drag me in Are we lost? Have we lost? We’ve all killed in ways, whether known or not A total loss, a total loss! The softest hint of the imprint of what that was… I want none of this Animals!

How Could You Disappear?
How Could You Disappear? Released on 18th October 2019 via Wow & Flutter Records. Written and performed by Fran O’Hanlon (AJIMAL) Produced by Guy Massey and Fran O'Hanlon Artwork by Drømsjel. All rights reserved. ⓟ & ©AJIMAL 2019. I'll remember you always Precious things not yet forgotten Like my first second skin With my first jump into water In that wild, blue embrace And the dark bite of November, I remember, As the wind whispered of fate I’ll remember you always Among the first of the surprises In the summer of my spring As a whistling adventure As a song of foolish joy And the rising bounce of green grass, as time passed, As it lifted birthday boy How could you disappear? I'll remember you always Until the end of the last ember Till no one knows my name As we crept into your bedroom Let our fingers trace your sheets With an air of still about you, that devout hue As you drifted into peace I'll remember you always As one of few things best forgotten Through a faded film of shame In the eyes-locked lust of first love With the thrill of what we’d found As we clutched our sacred secret, swore to keep it Swore to never make a sound How could you disappear? Every fateful celebration Every painful souvenir Every look of wide-eyed wonder Every all-consuming fear How could you disappear? [email protected] www.ajimal.co.uk @ajimalmusic
