All the Greatest Gays

All the Greatest Gays is a heartfelt and hilarious celebration of queer identity, hosted by actor comedian and token straight guy Nik Shriner. Each week, he chats with gay friends and icons about identity, intimacy, and family. He’s unqualified. He’s curious. He’s just here to ask the questions you’re too shy to Google.

  1. 14

This is your public coming out?

Mick Wingert joins us for the season finale to come out publicly.

  2. 13

    What's your masturbation practice?

Nik sits down with his longtime friend Edonis to discuss taking care of their bodies (how many jars a day of peanut butter is too many?), resilience in the face of fires and punches, and finding the humanity of people acting poorly.

  3. 12

    What is this smut?

Nik meets William Zaluski at the Getty on a tour of Queer Lens: A History of Photography and then scores an interview with the tip-top educator of educators himself.

  4. 11

Asexual means you don’t want to be with anyone?

This week: the extraordinary comedian, actress, singer-songwriter Margaret Cho joins us to talk about all the kinds of gay she's been and how she's the number one fan of her own work.

  5. 10

    How did you stay alive?

Nik visits Cam Clarke, the voice of Leonardo the Ninja Turtle (and hundreds of other characters) at his home in LA. They dive into his pool and the full range of human experience — from suicide, AIDS, and shame to gay joy, healing, and the importance of telling your friends how much you love them.

  6. 9

How scared were you to have sex?

Nik reunites with his longtime teacher Jack Plotnick to talk about the covert message in his acting classes, being gay during the AIDS epidemic, queerness & empathy, and how tween-aged Jack tried to teach himself to be straight.

  7. 8

They were gonna pull the gay out of you?

Tune in to hear stories from Scotch: a gay dad to triplet teenagers, owner of half the lips responsible for the first same-sex kiss broadcasted during the Emmys, a loyal friend to all his ex girl- and boyfriends, and (in the words of Nik) a man-God sex symbol reminiscent of Lenny Kravitz.

  8. 7

Do gays have more money than the straights?

Nik chats with his 90 year old “uncle” John Bowab.  A man with an endless supply of love, an extraordinary career as a director, and a famous Hollywood Hills house to pornos!

  9. 6

    Is that a lesbian thing?

Nik talks with our first lesbian guest, Jill, about her work as a respiratory therapist for the tiniest humans, how she conceived her four kids, common lesbian questions people ask her, and the advantages of being gay.

  10. 5

You didn't know that your dad was also gay?

Nik talks with his longtime friend and role model, Christopher Lawrence, about being raised by a gay dad, how being proposed to changed everything, and what it's like to be a gay man in the entertainment industry.

  11. 4

Is that typical with tops and bottoms?

At a retreat just outside Las Vegas, Nik meets Donald and David, two besties with a big plan to get laid on the strip. They discuss their distinct paths to understanding their sexuality, boundaries with friends, and the patience they recommend for those who haven’t found their chosen family yet.

  12. 3

When did it get real gay?

Nik talks to Markeyth Powell, a dancer friend from college who is boldly stepping into his identity. They dive into his Buddhist-Christian, faith-filled upbringing and the power of “being a loud, proud, out, gay Black man."

  13. 2

What are the rules of homophobia nowadays?

Nik sits down with his best friend Brandon Herman to ask the big question: is a podcast like this even helpful? Together, they unpack Brandon’s coming out journey, his first crushes, and the role of art in his sexuality.
