A commentary on The Great Deceiver, one of the extreme metal bands fronted by the late Thomas Tompa Lindberg.I share my personal tribute to one of the most distinctive voices and lyricists in extreme metal history — focusing not on At the Gates or Disfear, but on his most experimental and poetic work: The Great Deceiver.I’m Andrew Lisi — author and long-time metalhead. I’ve been following Tompa since the early 2000s, and after his recent passing, I went back to rediscover the albums that most people forgot.
