This show introduces the topic of ‘creative economy’ in Africa’s economic and development agenda. It explores the potential of the creative industry to provide new opportunities for developing countries, in particular African countries, to leapfrog into emerging high-growth areas of the world economy. The creative economy is a vital and growing engine of growth and employment in many countries of the world. According to UNESCO, the creative economy is one of the most rapidly growing sectors of the world economy - a highly transformative one in terms of income generation, job creation and export.
