Welcome to Assessment Stories, an equity centered assessment podcast. My name is Renee Delgado-Riley and I serve at University of Oregon as the Director of Student Life Assessment & Research. The bulk of my career in the field of Student Affairs has been as an Assessment & Research leader coordinating projects to understand early barriers impacting student success and the efficacy of interventions to better guide the field on best practices for working with students. I coordinates assessment and research projects to understand and address historic achievement gaps for traditionally marginalized students within the university utilizing multiple methodologies. My motivations for this research emerging from my own challenges as a first-generation native New Mexican student. In her non-academic life, she operates a small acreage farm with her family where they raise a variety of small livestock and a fruit orchard.
