While most teenagers spent their pocket money elsewhere, Swen invested every spare coin in building his music collection. His passion quickly evolved into an obsession, leading him to amass an extensive vinyl archive. In 1991, a pivotal encounter with a resident DJ from Frankfurt’s legendary Dorian Gray introduced him to the craft of DJing and helped shape his artistic vision. Life, however, would present significant challenges. At the age of 18, Swen lost his father, an event that profoundly impacted his path. Years later, he faced further tragedy when his mother and both grandparents passed away within a short period of time. Through these experiences, music became more than a passion, it became a source of strength, healing, and self-expression. Drawing inspiration from his father’s love for soul music, the hip-hop influences of his youth, and the emotional depth of his personal journey, Swen developed a distinctive sound that blends groove, emotion, and powerful techno energy. His sets and productions are driven by authenticity, transforming life experiences into music that connects, uplifts, and resonates deeply with audiences. Linked to the Madrid underground, he has been a regular at the Mercado Fuencarral booth from the very beginning. Starting with the famous Raves del Mercado, he later played at a multitude of Madrid venues, such as Space of Sound, Ohm, Arena, Coppelia, Sirocco or Macera Club. His outstanding work led him to a residency at La Musa Latina until 2005, where his Sunday afternoon sessions were legendary and still remembered today. He played his first DJ set in 2006 at Encontro Fora do Tempo Festival, delivering a set of progressive dark psytrance — a sound he continued to explore in the following years. He also explored more downtempo realms with a trip-hop side project rooted in jazz, dub, and breakbeat. In 2007, he co-founded the Anauê collective, contributing — alongside other local crews — to the growth of the underground scene in Santa Catarina.
