Beast of Burden

In a post-apocalyptic wasteland ravaged by a crystalline plague, grizzled hauler Kane lives by the Hauler's Code: no names, no pasts, and cargo gets delivered. He takes a high-stakes job to transport a mysterious "package"—Lyra, a silent girl sealed in a glass chamber surrounded by blooming, reactive crystals—from the ruins of Veridia to the distant Helios-7 research outpost.
