    Regenerative Technology at Your Fingertips

In previous episodes of Cranial Closure, Bioplate & Osteopore announced their partnership to distribute cutting edge regenerative technology and products in the United States. On this episode, host Matt Boutwell brings back Kean Lee and Thomas Hopson to discuss what went into “The Why” of the partnership. As Kean shared, “Osteopore is a new entrant to the US medical device market, and Bioplate itself has a long history in the cranial market segment, so partnering with them makes strategic sense for us… (thinking historically) there's not been much technology looking at the cranial fixation market. I think Osteopore really brings this new technology to a lot of the users, and what is exciting is basically that we can enable the patient to heal itself through tissue regeneration.” Truly a significant step in new technology and regeneration. Listen to the latest episode of Cranial Closure.

Why did Osteopore choose Bioplate as a partner?

Kean Lee, Business Director of Osteopore  joins host Matt Boutwell to talk about the recently announced partnership between the two companies. Osteopore is recognized as a global leader in regenerative solutions and their bioresorbable implant is the first of its kind to be successfully developed and commercialized for surgical use. Kean commented on the new relationship between Bioplate and Osteopore and shared that , “Bioplate, with its long-standing reputation in the market, definitely is a solid partner to create a strong step for Osteopore to enter this market. Together with Bioplate, I believe that we can develop further into the cranial maxillofacial segment with standard products, as well as the customized products we can produce. This makes sense for both companies to further build into this regenerative field.” Later Kean also noted that he sees the immense opportunity to develop the market through this relationship with Bioplate. Listen as Matt dives deeper into the new partnership that is seen as a significant step in this space in the United States.

    Why Bioplate with Thomas Hopson

In an industry that is difficult to innovate in, Bioplate continues to push innovation forward in the craniomaxillofacial industry, Bioplate was founded in 1994 and started as a development company to manufacture cranial plating systems for neurosurgery. Today, those same products still exist, but have evolved and continue to evolve into a much more robust product line with products to support the craniomaxillofacial industry. Not only does Bioplate develop technology, we have a robust R&D pipeline of products we distribute. We have R&D, we have manufacturing and distribution of products, and that's globally for the neurosurgeon primarily in the craniofacial space. Thomas Hopson, CEO of Bioplate said, “We feel very good about where we are and how we are positioned in that marketplace.” Bioplate is unique because they are focused in one target area. That focus is specifically on bone regeneration products and techniques, bone replacement, and bone fixation. It's an area that does not enjoy a very large market cap at this stage. Thomas continues and shared that, “We think the innovation in this space is really ripe. The timing is right for Bioplate to be a player in that space. If you think about some of the larger companies, some of our competitors who have a really large product portfolio, they're not focused so much in this space because it doesn't move the needle very much for those companies, whereas Bioplate, this is central to who we are and what we do.” Listen to the latest episode of Cranial Closure with Thomas Hopson.

Creating a culture of creativity and quality that strives for innovation

Host Matt Boutwell welcomes Alan Zhu, the Vice President of Global Sales and Business Development, and Thomas Hopson, President of Bioplate, to the Cranial Closure Podcast. The leadership of Bioplate continues to work on creating a culture of creativity and quality that pushes for innovation. Challenges abound, but as Thomas pointed out, “Once you've established yourself as a quality provider, it's really hard to be supplanted by the competition.” A quality product certainly goes hand-in-hand with quality employees. It is their attention to detail in the product development process as well as how the product is manufactured that makes the difference. Bioplate has built a very high-integrity quality system process to deliver products that exceed the expectations of customers on a regular basis. There is a solid foundation for quality and reliability and that moves Bioplate forward. When you can create a product that is easily used by a surgeon and is a long-term solution that serves the patient well, you can feel really good about the future of the company. Listen as Alan and Thomas share how they work on continuing to keep Bioplate at the forefront of the industry.
