This website is designed to help the injured workers tell their stories to bring the issues of injured employees to light. There was a time where injured employee settlements were getting abused. During the Arnold Schwarzenegger Governorship, injured employees lost most of their rights in a bipartisan fashion in California. As a fair-minded person, I understand there has to be a balance between the cost of an injured employee and a business’s bottom line. Unfortunate, California, like many states, is SELF-FUNDED workman’s comp insurance (State Fund), such as the largest business that can pay out of pocket. The issue is when the state departments balance their budgets on the backs of their injured employees. The state requires all businesses to use a third-party Insurance carrier or middleman to offset the needs of the injured and the employer’s cost. But it should NOT be the business or department choosing what is medically necessary when doctors are requesting treatment for an injure
