Hi there folks, welcome to number 33 in the Homemade House series and I'm very happy to introduce you to Master William. I first encountered him at a rooftop party in his hometown of Ghent and found out we shared a mutual love for House music and a passion for music in general. I started following him on socials and was amazed by his dedication to the craft and therefor I'm very proud and happy to share his talent with you. Here's a lil' bio he'd like to share with you. Master William is a house music producer and live DJ from Ghent, blending deep grooves with live keys. A classically trained pianist from the Bruges Conservatory, he brings musicianship to dancefloors, with performances at Curfew, Moonfield, Campo Solar, Aftr, Charlatan and Amigo. His catalog includes releases on WeZienWel, Aftrtrax, and Body ’N Deep, with highlights like Don’t Waste Another Night (feat. Mona Lee)—remixed by Jovonn and Mike Ekim—his 2025 single Jamon on Body ’N Deep, and his latest track Thin King (WeZienWel Records, Sept 2025). We're on number 32 already and we've got my great friend Matt James, based out of Leeds (UK), joining the Homemade House Series. He's the Co founder of JUST GOOD PEOPLE and has been collecting viinyl on and off for last 20 years, with an eclectic taste from disco to house, Chicago, through deep house and anything good inbetween. Had the opportunity to play in Prague early this year and more recently in Ronse, Belgium. After a short break, I'm back on track with the Homemade House series and I'd like to introduce you to my new guest - TIMOCIOUS - Hailing from Niagara Falls, Ontario, Timocious — a nickname bestowed upon him by his grandfather — is a passionate purveyor of underground house music. With a style deeply rooted in everything from deep and jackin' house to jazzy, techy, soulful, and even the occasional acid-infused track, Timocious is dedicated to taking his audience on an immersive journey through the underground, always seeking that undeniable magic in the mix. Timocious's journey into the world of DJing began as many do: with an insatiable curiosity and a persistent spirit. Early on, he'd pester his brother's DJ friends for time on their gear, even experimenting with a basic Radio Shack mixer, CD players lacking pitch control, and a turntable with minimal range. His formal training? A memorable two-minute crash course from a fed-up friend who "couldn't stand the tennis balls in the dryer anymore!" The real turning point came when Timocious and his best friend (now brother-in-law) each invested in a Technics SL-1200 turntable. From then on, it was non-stop mixing, with frequent trips to Toronto for parties and record shopping becoming the highlights of their lives. While his musical palette growing up was broad, encompassing everything from The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and Pink Floyd to Genesis, classical music, 80s pop, and 90s alternative, Timocious found his true calling in house music. The legendary sounds of Mark Farina, Derrick Carter, and DJ Sneak became, and remain, monumental influences on his distinctive style. We were invited to play at Absolut Surfclub (Oudenaarde, Belgium) and we decided to mix 2 to 3 tracks each and then hand over the headphones to the next person, which resulted in an amazing mixtape with lots of different styles and moods. Number 29 is up and we've got the wonderful Wilson Frisk providing a sweet mxitape for y'all to enjoy !! He hails from Bradford, Yorkshire in the north of England. Like many other Dj's Wilson started his musical journey collecting music as a young teenager doing compilations for his friends. In 1994 Wilson started a music fanzine called 'Jackyard Backoff' with his late friend Chris Stephenson which covered the music scene in the north of England. Around 1995 Wilson became involved with a very successful club night called 'Spice' which was his first stint at Dj'ing playing Broken Beat, Acid Jazz, Hip Hop, Soul and jazz......Wilson has now firmly established himself in the House/Disco scene holding down residencies in Bradford, Leeds and Huddersfield and been involved with infamous club nights such as Back2Funky, Uno House, Our House, Afro Coalition, Way2Funky, Wallop, GYGO and The House Of Phunk. Currently Wilson is one of the Boombox Stereo residents who play at the mighty BeatHearder Festival and part of the 4Playdjs Collective who play at the Solfest Festival in Cumbria. Wilson is also one half Of Uptown Funk along side his musical partner in crime Poco (@uptownfunkin) .. Hi there folks, Spring is around the corner already and we're very excited with how you've been supporting Homemade House !! Next up we have none other than Jason Merle in the mix... Hailing from The Tower District in Fresno CA, Jason Merle has been playing records since 1997. Aftermoving to the Bay Area to swim with the big fish, he began to produce and play with some of the incredible DJ’s that saturate the scene in San Francisco and eventually moved back to Fresno where he continued his rise until 2008. Fast forward a decade after concentrating on fatherhood and he is back at it. Producing tracks and starting his own label 4E&A Records, he is focused and passionate about learning and improving in the studio and playing tracks that honor the past and create visions of the future. He may be a little less intoxicated this time around, but he is just as dizzy in love with house as he was back in the day. Growing up just outside of Toronto, Travis was first enchanted by House Music at 16, in the late 1980's as a Dancer first at an all ages Club called NRG. At the age of Eighteen, the passing of his Grandfather marked the beginning of what would be an illustrious career as a DJ for Travis. Taking advantage of some money left to him, Travis purchased his first turntable, a grey 1983 Technics 1200 and a Rane mixer sourced from a mobile wedding DJ service who were converting to CD format. Record shopping took place at Traxx records in Toronto with guidance from Tim Patrick. In 1993 Travis moved to London Ontario to attend University and during that time became disillusioned with the frat boy/keg party existence that was everywhere, and opted instead to jump in the car with like minded Dancers and House Music lovers and head to Toronto to attend Warehouse parties and all night Raves. The Dance Floors at these parties were filled with incredibly skilled break dancers and groovers from all over Southern Ontario and New York state and were so very inspirational to Travis. It was here that his DJ groove was really established with the soundtrack provided by the likes of DJ Dan, Mark Farina, Ritchie Hawtin, Dj Sneak, Roger Sanchez, Terry Mullan and many many more. He always gravitated to the more upbeat Chicago Style Sounds. In 1996 Travis graduated from University and drove 2000 miles west to Vancouver where he planned to work in the Provincial Parks of British Columbia. He was stationed on a small island in the Gulf island chain and there he lived for the next two years, running and managing this park in the peace and isolation of the ocean and evergreen trees. There was no electricity at the Ranger station but he was able to run his decks from a Generator in the workshop. He finally purchased another turntable, a Technics 1100 series with a pitch knob that was extremely tricky to master. Practicing for hours and hours on this sub par scenario led Travis to become extremely precise at beat matching and long mixing. His record shopping trips required a ferry boat ride to the mainland and were at Bassix and Boomtown Records. The year 1998 saw Travis move to Vancouver, extremely apt in the art of mixing house music. It was during this time that his friends called him The Holy Ghost. Wanting to take his craft to the next level, Travis moved to London UK in 2001. He picked up a residency at Smile London and has played at various other venues across the city such as Oblivion, the Cross, the Fridge, the Viaduct, Turnmills and Bagley's. There was a very vibrant Pirate/Underground Radio scene here and in 2002 he started his Radio show, called Believe, on Worldwide FM. He was quickly courted over to UnknownFM 90.2 where his shows were super popular and showcased his ever evolving Energetic US Funky/Jackin’ House style. In March 2004 International DJ Magazine (IDJ) chose him as runner up in their monthly mixed tape competition. From this he was contacted by fellow DJ and promoter Roman Pushkin and he started going to Moscow and St. Petersburg regularly to play gigs. In all Travis played over thirty times in Russia and many other cities like Minsk in Belarus, Ufa, Ekaterinbourg, Magnitagorsk and Vladivostok. As the years passed and Believe became more and more popular in 2008 Travis hooked up with a group of like minded house heads on ChicagoHouseFM. In 2009 he got married to the love of his life in South Africa and although he still hacked around a bit on the decks he decided to focus on his real life. In 2012 his first Son was born and then a second one came in 2015 and he has been very Daddy focused ever since! Now in 2020 the passion for Jazzy Jackin Underground Funky House Music still burns very strong in this Jedi so he now has his decks set up and is going to start up Believe once again, streaming his sound and video via the web. Homemade House #26 is ready to be played at high volume ! We'd love to introduce Ben Russel. Ben was born and raised in the South East of England and got his first set of turntables at 14. Starting off playing trance and progressive house it wasn’t until a 6hr masterclass from Derrick Carter at Tribal Gathering that he learnt about the groove. After that you could find him in numerous London clubs like Fabric or The End drawing influence from DJs like Sneak, Heather, Iz & Diz, Terry Francis, Luke Solomon, Jesse Rose and Craig Richards to name a few. His sound is something of the old school Jack. Joey Youngman, Jason Hodges and Inland Knights are prominent in his sets. If it’s funky, if it bumps he’ll play it. Ben is currently promoting and resident for his night House Is Where The Heart Is along side his best friend Andy. The night was started last year and is growing quickly. For the May bank holiday they’ve booked the Inland Knights, heroes in their eyes. Bio: I'm Dj Nadz, Female Dj from Manchester uk born and bred. I love my music! From different genres of house music to soul, funky, motown, Afrobeat and many more. I fell in love with house music in my 20's when I would listen to my friends dj and going to a bars and clubs. I used to go to a small club called out in the sticks and it was very underground house music. From there I was hooked. For many years I was a bedroom dj. But after Covid lockdown, I decided to get out there and show what I can do and share my passion and love for music. Since that time, I have become one quarter of a dj group named Resonate. I play alongside 3 amazing Djs, Semaj, Neil Matthews and Dj Boba. We’ve played from a small local underground basement bar to Manchester bar’s and soon a clubs in the city of Manchester. Our aim is to bring good quality deep, vocal, jazzy, jackin house music to Manchester. I also have a Friday 5-6pm GMT radio slot on www.realhouseradio.com (Friday 5-6pm GMT) I love playing live and on the radio show. For the last instalment of the year I've invited my good friend and partner in House music production, Kaïz. We've been friend since kindergarden and he was the one that showed me the wonderful world of mixing on Vinyl and also introduced me to House music that same day :) He made an all vinyl mix for us to enjoy. Here's a lil' bio for those that want to get to know the fella a bit better: Hailing from Ghent (Belgium). Kaiz (BE) is a Dj/producer with a passion for underground house music from the funky sunset 'till the deep sunrise. He's been collecting and playing House since the early ‘00s. Around the same era he started performing at the locally renowned parties called "Freak City", where local legends Yellert & Clauz took him under their wings. His passion for House music grew and never died 'till this day. Cezar Touch convinced him to start producing and as a result he has released tracks on FederFunk Family Label, Deep Clicks, You Funked Up, That's Right Dawg Music, Chronic Rhytm Label, Robotical Grooves, Run To My Beat and many more… 2023 was a good year with 20+ track in the jackin top 100 on traxsource. Here's a lil' word about the man in question: Rich Emby (Deeply Jacked) From Leicester (UK) Lives in Normandy France Music obsessed Rich Emby is no stranger to the underground house music scene. Having been brought up on a rich diet of DJ's and producers from around the globe. Whilst doing the circuit in various clubs during the 00s, he developed a keen ear for good quality ‘dancefloor friendly’ underground house music – the sound that he has become synonymous with. Whilst he tends to lean towards the deep Jackin house side of the spectrum, his sets never fail to surprise, always changing things up, experimenting with the mix, and throwing the odd curve ball to keep the dancefloor and listener engaged.
