Soon after the release of my 2014 AMERICAN RIPPER album, Jon Du Bose (bass/guitar/co-writer) and I started talking about what would be next. The idea of a five part concept EP was thrown around and in no time Jon was hard at work. The intention was to record the music all as one piece and I would later write five separate intertwined songs and figure out where to cut them. We called it “5 Realms”. But once I had the music, which totaled twenty four plus minutes I was stymied to find a subject worthy and big enough. Jon presented me with another song which became PUSH BUTTON PAIN while I pondered this massive track. A year or so earlier I had seen a video of Christopher Walkin reading Edgar Allan Poe’s THE RAVEN on YouTube and at the time thought that would make a great Metal song, but quickly dismissed it. Then one night, with my headphones on listening to “5 Realms” it hit me! I wondered if THE RAVEN poem would fit over Jon’s music. It quickly became apparent that not only would they fit, they would fit with NO adjustments to either music or poem! The finished product is an amazing twist of fate or bizarre coincidence.

Push Button Pain chronicles a young man haunted by the actions of someone from his youth. A life time is spent seeking this individual all with the boiling pain in his gut. Revenge is coming!
