Calling a Recess
I was working on the episode and I just... couldn't get a sentence together. My editor suggested I take a break so I will. I also will come back. I love this.

Docket 28 - Batman Returns (and it's effect on Super hero movies)
sources: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1nUSIcgva2p_MNaZ9kn7OYe6z0yA-VuuBjjK6FGZnzR4/edit?usp=sharing Also no, seriously, I was down and out for a WHILE. My voice still isn't quite right. So my apologies on either weird sounds or thoughts not completely tracking. My editor really liked this more vibe based analysis, but next time should be one with more support. I just saw Batman Returns for the first time last year. A theater put it on as a Christmas movie. I admit it didn't QUITE land for me, but it was enjoyable.

Docket 27 - 2025 Public Domain Day
Since the time of recording and the time of posting, Poe managed to jump into my second Which just... thank you Alan Wake crew. I hope you come back to see how much Alan Wake I can cram into this over all. But yes, Public Domain Day has returned! I love it, I love seeing what else we can get, and I can't wait until more comes. In the mean time, enjoy early Tin Tin and go check out Project Gutenberg. Docket 26 - Poe
Hello everyone! Something a bit fun before we go into Holidays. Next episode is the Public Domain Day episode! Unfortunately most of the early info is not online. I did end up emailing the LA Public Library Archives for information and may update the sources if I get info. Speaking of: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1qTyY4pmMmskTsPT4tTagp3vt_Vqb-88Is00o4b-7Msc/edit?usp=sharing So, one full year finished. Thank you for sticking with me. I've enjoyed my work here.

Docket 25 - James Bond and Kevin McClory
Sources: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Hm9EtP2Am_2nLRm4bdQiDRz8T3pF5OAKyNEryH_pwik/edit?usp=sharing I was alerted to this story over on Blue Sky and I'm so glad I was. This was a lot of fun to dig into, especially as a lot of it was stuffy I had vaguely heard only as "legal troubles" But as I had never really watched James Bond I kind of forgot. A lot of this research comes from a book called "Battle for Bond" that... I genuinely could not find. It was incredibly out of print, the nearest library that had it was over 500 miles away, I couldn't find it on Archive.org nothing. There was some other legal trouble in that, but it was not as relevant to this script. Also, speaking of Blue Sky, yeah my outtro is out of date due to... everything. I'll update it in the new year and the 2025 Public Domain Day episode.

Docket 24 - ESRB
Sources: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1vdxg1iVkChMYAEKbhCZBFlYAKSLdCI_a-Ge4HvqU97g/edit?usp=sharing And I had fun doing this! The ESRB creation and it's after effects is interesting and it's absolutely fascinating to compare it to the Movies Ratings Board. I hope everyone has a happy Thanksgiving!

Docket 23: one year anniversary
Thank you everyone. Sources will be put up soon, but for any human who listens to this podcast, thank you. You mean so much to me.

Docket 22 Scream and the Ghostface Mask
Happy Halloween everyone! Enjoy this Spooky Episode before you go off and watch Scream! Also, we are nearing our 1 year anniversary! If you haven't left a review before, now would be a good time. I've only seen Scream1 but it was a really good movie. https://docs.google.com/document/d/19OZfW-VwM-7Psip6qQJOAX9W79dWZoQxJaZ4SWoNqOU/edit?usp=sharing

Docket 21 - the evil Dead
I AM BACK! Sorry for the delay. Today we are talking about the Evil Dead and I had a good time researching it. For some reason my recording sounded a bit fast but well, I think it's fine. If not, reminders we do have transcripts along with sources. So, may as well put my rankings here. 1 and Rise are tied. Then Army of Darkness, then 2 (mostly tied) then 2013 at the bottom. I'm glad to get the siblings back, but they kills were gritty without any humor or fun. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1bpB8OAjqsz9-hdXinTk1ziFXxQqCcRkJgFWCnceNBsc/edit?usp=sharing

Docket 20 - Barbie and Bild Lilli
I had THREE different ideas fall through. So sorry if this feels a smidge rushed. But honestly, I get to talk about the often forgotten Bild Lilli. Who needs love. In addition both my editor and I will be out busy these next two weekends so while I will try to get an episode out, we may miss it. Sorry. Docket 19 - Captain Marvel
Time for one of the best comic book legal stories, Captain Marvel! All of them. I am Carol Corp and Kamala Corp, but Billy Batson is really great in his own way. I hope this answers any questions you had about the movies. Also sorry for the sound quality shift. I said "DC" instead of "Disney" and went to rerecord and uh... yeah. Docket 18 - Accessibility
And JUST sneaking into the last day of Disability Awareness Month... Accessibility! I used to work at a movie theater and I had multiple instances of people trying to buy the wheelchair seats and not listening when I was saying there was literally no seat there. Don't do that. Docket 17: Interrogatory Robert Vann
I had a great time learning about Robert Vann and the Oakmont Historical society! I will admit I was hoping to learn about a related topic, but unfortunately that is still on my to do list. But fortunately, this was fascinating and definitely feels like a less talked about period. Docket 16 - Studio Systems
And we are back! My editor needed some time off so time to do a big episode, the Studio system! This was... more relevant when I started writing it. I hope you enjoy it! Sources here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ohY_5G6Aw9VMrf7zyIds4ABt2abHM-3iA6VprBlWiAs/edit?usp=sharing

Docket 15 - Names
Hello! A less scientific but just as fun episode for you today! I had a lot of fun researching names, and seeing whether what I thought was true.... was actually true. For example: Khaleesi is still charting? I thought it would disappear after the Game of Thrones ending. Docket 14 - Nosferatu
With Dracula Daily season in full swing, I decided to look at one of the other major pieces of Vampire media, Nosferatu. This may be my most heavily sourced piece yet - more than King Kong - but it's also mostly youtube clips of vampires dissolving in sunlight. But I WAS reminded how good 2011's Fright Night was. Also go play Alan Wake. It's got nothing to do with vampires, it's just a good game. The Sequel is possibly even better? They are just doing two different things at two different times. Docket 13 - Payola
Hello! I realized in edits I said Sony BGM, I mean Sony BMG. Also you may hear some different sounds mixed in, I had to record at a different time than usual and I didn't have the time/space/equipment to filter that out or rerecord. I had a lot of fun with this episode, and not only did I learn a lot, I've been evaluating to 40 stations (and stations that play the actual top 40 lists) a lot more. Docket 12 - Living or Dead
I AM BACK! Sorry about the delay, my initial podcast plan fell apart and then I was called in for jury duty. No, I'm serious. So, apologies for the shorter episode today, just working on getting it all back on schedule in the mean time. This one was fun to do! Docket 11 - King Kong
Thank you to my local law library for helping me with my research. I had a lot of fun doing this episode, and it was a lot of work too so I hope you enjoy it! There is so much in this episode I had to just gloss over, but Merien C Cooper definitely is a character. Docket 10 - "Can it run Doom?"
I'm still struggling to balance "being understood" and "Not sounding like a robot" and this episode doesn't strike the balance that well, but I get to talk about Copyleft! And also, DOOM. Sources here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1cKQiXw6VGq8LJnowTjQzfH3Tcyd5mRftL5fpda53qL0/edit?usp=sharing

Docket 9 - Oswald the Lucky Rabbit
Hello everyone! Time for a new episode about Oswald the Lucky Rabbit since Epic Mickey's remaster was just announced. Also, to clarify super quick, Woody Woodpecker and Oswald were both owned by Universal during most of this story, which is why I often draw direct comparisons between the two. Docket 8 His Girl Friday v Switching Channels
Sorry for the delay! Today we are trying something new. As stated, I had a really fun time watching both movies and comparing them so find me on the socials if you want to suggest movies. Also, fun news, the last episode has become my most watched episode, and in just 2 weeks! So thank you! Docket 7 - Ever after High vs Descendants
This one has been on my to do list for a while! I thoroughly enjoyed EAH when it came out, and I'm hoping it gets a return like Monster high did. Also, I've been playing around with some editing, (I found I spoke part of this a SMIDGE too fast. Not enough for a retake but enough it was probably hard to hear) and then I had to change the pitch so... if I sound a bit off that's why. Docket 6 - Sonic Chronicles and Sonic Comics
Sorry for the delay! Real life was a pain these last 2 weeks. Can you believe I have 6 episodes up? I'm really shocked. This is a really interesting topic I didn't get to talk about as much as I wanted to, otherwise I'd have gone off on a few tangents. I hope you enjoy! For sources click: here

Docket 5 - Public Domain Day 2024
I had to do a retake rather late, so I do apologize for saying "Harold Logan" instead of Harold Lloyd and for implying Charade is ILLEGAL to watch, no it is very very legal. I'm also planning on making this an episode every year! Because so much gets missed. Apparently, some HITCHCOCK films are also in the public domain, though obviously very early works.

Docket 4 - Alex Casey (Alan Wake)
Today we cover Remedy Games' Alex Casey (possibly better known as Max Payne... or maybe not) and why and how he appears 3 times in Alan Wake 2

Docket 3: Sahara
This episode ended up being a lot more complicated than I initially thought it would be. Also please forgive any sound differences. I've had to record away from my usual set up. It may be a bit quiet.

Docket 1 - Marvel Rides in theme parks
Welcome to the first episode of this podcast! I'm still playing around with editing/tone/speed/etc but I had a lot of fun researching this episode, and I hope you have just as much fun listening to it. Expect more work on theme parks in the future! ... and Definitely Disney.
-
2
Docket 2 - Friday the 13th
After recording this episode I found out Dead Meat on youtube also uses "Blood and Boobs" when describing Friday's appeal so... oops? Also another future episode - or a mini episode - will be Jason's complicated legal history due to the selling of the name and it's initial status as an indie horror movie. If you are wondering why the movies stopped being called "friday the 13th" (such as "Jason takes Manhattan" or "Jason X" ) Yeah, that's why. Anyway, too late for Halloween but I hope you enjoy!
