    “Best Of” Maggie Daun

Maggie and economist Gbenga Ajilore dissect the chaotic state of U.S. economic policies under Trump, spotlighting the ill effects of his tariff tactics that diverge sharply from traditional Republican principles. Trump's surprise at Reagan's anti-tariff stance reveals a startling disconnect. Meanwhile, a Canadian ad during the World Series cleverly trolls Trump by invoking Reagan's words. The discussion pivots to the Federal Reserve's balancing act with interest rates amidst inflation concerns fueled by tariffs, as the administration's internal echo chamber leaves little room for dissent. The Maggie Daun Show is a part of the Civic Media radio network and airs Monday through Friday from 2-4 pm across the network. Subscribe to the podcast to be sure not to miss out on a single episode! Evasion (Hour 2)

Matt Rothschild joins us as cohost for the day. At the top of the hour, we bemoan the eternal evasion of responsibility and consequence our President enjoys. He disobeys judges and flouts the authority of the entire judiciary branch? No problem. He rejects the authority of the legislature to control the budget? Not an issue! He commits massive fraud in New York and earns status as a convicted felon for it? Nobody (it seems) cares! Evasion after evasion, for his wealth and his status. And now, GOP lawmakers around the country are avoiding holding town halls after those who have have been confronted by disappointed constituents. The latest such case coming from a deep-red district of Nebraska. And what about the less MAGA-sympathetic GOP members like Senator Murkowski (R-AK)? Well she says that those who share her "concerns" are being quiet because they're scared for their political lives... We hear from audience members who share frustrations and concerns over the trajectory of this administration. And then we finish the day, as always, with something good. Matt brought some Margaret Atwood to share today- listen to her piece "Night Poem" and enjoy the serenity. Join Dom Salvia every afternoon from 4-6pm for news (some), humor (more), and great conversation (always)! Listen throughout the state of Wisconsin on the Civic Media network and worldwide on the Civic Media app. Call or text to join the fun at 855-752-4842. If you love our music and want to listen to our full bumper library, check it out! Guest: Matt Rothschild
