03: The Trial of Richard Prince

CompositeCast goes the full recreation on this special episode. Commissioned by WFMU for their Optimized radio festival, "The Trial of Richard Prince"  is a one act play performed using only actual, utterly insane, testimony from a 2011 copyright lawsuit against artist Richard Prince. Testimony touches on colonialism, art capitalism, Djuna Barnes, and Bon Jovi.

02: Ana Mendieta and Carl Andre

Was a young feminist artist murdered by her husband in 1985? After three years of trials the court declared sculptor Carl Andre not guilty of the murder of Ana Mendieta. But the evidence was controversial, and the case revealed deep divisions of gender, race, and class in New York's art scene. CompositeCast goes back to pre-gentrified New York to look at the evidence, the trial, and why this death still haunts the city.

    01: The Cotton Club Case

Cartel bosses pitching movies. Bodybuilding hitmen. Fallen sitcom stars. Robert Evans. The Cotton Club Case is the stuff of Hollywood legend, but what really happened? And, what was the final gross? In this debut episode of the Composite podcast producer Brian J Davis and host Emily Schultz explore those questions and also ask why comedians from Patton Oswalt to Bob Odenkirk love Robert Evans.
