65 | The Covergirl Project: Revelation 12-22 with Darlene Johnson
Dear Friend, Today we are covering the second half of Revelation which completes our Covergirl Project of the New Testament! As we said last week, Revelation can be intimidating, but we are keeping the high view! We are not getting bogged down with what we don’t understand, but just seeking to know Jesus more deeply as we look forward to eternity with Him and remember that this eternal perspective impacts everything about our daily lives. It has been a joy to journey through the New Testament with you, and I pray that you will be so encouraged by this conversation! “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” -Revelation 21:4-5a Love to you all, Candace Join our Community! 64 | The Covergirl Project: Revelation 1-11 with Darlene Johnson
Dear Friend, Today we are covering the first half of Revelation, the final book in our New Testament Covergirl Project! We have Darlene Johnson with us again, and if you missed our conversations through Matthew and Romans, make sure to go back and listen in! Darlene has been a Bible teacher for many years, part of CWM since the beginning, a recently retired coach’s wife after 40 years of football at both the college and pro levels, and most importantly, she loves Jesus and she loves His Word. In this episode, we just wanted to encourage you to read with the goal of knowing Jesus more deeply, so we are going to focus on some of the many names of Jesus found in this book. There are a lot of images and symbols too, and no one can get it all reading one time through! So just imagine that you are about to walk through an art gallery full of amazing paintings, and portraits and artifacts, and you can take it all in, walk straight through, then go back later to focus on one masterpiece at a time! I pray that you will be encouraged by our conversation, and remember that we have this book of Revelation because Jesus loves us and wants to prepare us for eternity with Him! “...Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.” - Revelation 7:10 Love to you all, Candace The Bible Project Link: Revelation (part 1)

63 | The Covergirl Project: 1, 2, 3 John & Jude with Cindy Wild
Dear Friend, In this episode we are covering 1st, 2nd and 3rd John and Jude! I’m excited to have Cindy Wild with us again as we approach the very end of the New Testament! There are several recurring themes that run throughout these letters that are so applicable for us today. My prayer is that this conversation will encourage you to know Jesus more deeply, and that we will all be reminded to live this life with urgency in light of eternity! “Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God’s place in your hearts.” - 1 John 5:21 Love to you all, Candace

62 | The Covergirl Project: 1 & 2 Peter
Dear Friend, Throughout our Covergirl Project, we continue to read the final words of the great men of faith, communicated in different ways depending on their “coaching style”. However, they all focus on the importance of the Word, persevering through suffering and loving Jesus above all else. In this episode, we have Peter’s letters- Peter who was one of the main pillars and pastors of the new testament church, writing to persecuted Christians. He who had once been so fearful of persecution and suffering that he denied the Lord, was encouraging believers to keep standing firm in the truth and to remember that they had a living hope and a secure identity. I love having these reminders for our lives today! Life is often crazy, consistency can be a struggle, but our stability is in Jesus! If you are feeling unstable or unsettled or even doubtful about what the future holds, I pray that you will be encouraged through the letters of Peter today! “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7 Love to you all, Candace

61 | The Covergirl Project: James with Olivia Jackson
Dear Friend, Today we have Olivia Jackson with us as we cover the book of James. Olivia lives in North Carolina with her husband, Corey and they have 4 kids ages 13-22. Olivia and Corey have been in ministry together throughout their marriage, both overseas in East Asia with Cru and planting a church here in the States, and I’m excited for you to hear some of her story. Olivia is passionate about equipping women in ministry, and she has been serving women across the US and internationally since 2017. She currently serves as the the Director of women’s coaching at the Gospel Coaching Network, and she has been an invaluable resource to me personally over the last few months. In Coaches’ Wives Ministry, we talk a lot about how we as coaching families are on the mission field of sports, and even our own homes are mission fields. I am excited for you to meet Olivia today and I pray that you will be encouraged in your own callings and ministry work through this episode! “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” - James 1:5 Love to you all, Candace

Dear Friend, We have Jill Freeze back with us again today to talk about the book of Hebrews! She joined us for 1st and 2nd Corinthians just a few weeks ago, so go back and listen in if you missed them! Jill has been a football coach’s wife for 34 years, at both at the high school and college levels, and no matter what book we are covering. she really shares some great practical applications out of those scriptures for life as a coach’s wife. Jill is also a mom and grandmom, and she and her husband Hugh have three daughters, three grandchildren and a foster grandson. Hebrews is a special book for her that she has studied in depth over the years, and it’s a book full of the names of Jesus, His image and His likeness. I love it especially for this week of Easter, and I hope you will be encouraged by this episode as you celebrate the power of the resurrection and read Hebrews for yourself! “Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. 58 | The Covergirl Project: 1 & 2 Thessalonians
Dear Friend, Today we are covering 1 & 2 Thessalonians, and celebrating that we are half-way through the New Testament with these 2 letters, books 13 and 14 out of 27! Paul wrote to the Thessalonians as they were going through persecution for their faith. There were also false teachings leading to fear about Jesus’ return, and wondering if they had been abandoned. They needed hope and assurance that God’s love for them was unshakable and that He always keeps His promises. So today, I just wanted to share a few of my take-a-ways about hope, because we need it as well! Whether it’s a current situation or concern for the future, Jesus is our hope today, tomorrow and forever. I pray that you will be encouraged by this episode! “May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God and to the steadfastness of Christ.” -2 Thessalonians 3:5 Love to you all, Candace

57 | The Covergirl Project: Philippians & Colossians with Farrah Sinclair
Dear Friend, Today we are covering Philippians and Colossians, two of Paul’s prison letters, and I’m excited to have Farrah Sinclair with us again! Her husband Scott is the Director of strength and conditioning for the University of Georgia football team, and Farrah has been leading local covergirl groups here in Athens, GA and serving on gospel collective gathering team - among other things! And about the gathering... It was an amazing time together and the Lord truly impacted all of our hearts with gospel truth and perspective for this coaching life. It is such a gift to keep the gospel conversation going through the podcast today, as many of these truths we talked about are found in the letters of Paul! I pray you will be encouraged by this episode! “...and the peace of God, which transcends all uderstanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” -Philippians 4:7 Love to you all, Candace

55 | The Covergirl Project: 2nd Corinthians with Jill Freeze
Hey Friends! In this episode, we are taking a look at 2nd Corinthians, Paul’s second letter to the church in Corinth. I’m excited to have Jill Freeze with us again today as we focus specifically on 2 Corinthians 4, and talk about keeping eternal perspective through the highs and lows of the coaching journey. At the end of this episode, Jill is also going to lead us in a special time of “listening prayer”, and you will most likely want to have something to write with, and take a moment even afterwards to reflect on what the Lord does through this exercise. I know you will be encouraged! “And it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us, and who has also put his seal on us and given us his Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.”- 2 Corinthians 1:21-22 Love to you all, Candace

54 | The Covergirl Project: 1st Corinthians with Jill Freeze
Dear Friends, For the two weeks we have the privilege of hearing from Jill Freeze as we cover 1st and 2nd Corinthians together. Jill has been a coach’s wife for 34 years. Her husband, Hugh, has coached football throughout all 34 years of marriage at both the high school and college levels. They have three daughters, three grandchildren and a foster grandson, and they currently reside in Alabama. I invited Jill to join me today because she is a prayer warrior who loves God’s Word, she loves pouring into coaches’ wives and she has been intentional to do so in each and every location they have been called to as a coaching family. What I love about our conversations through these next two episodes is how Jill applies the many issues of the church in Corinth to the issues we face today. I hope you will be encouraged to read these letters of Paul for yourself even if you are not doing The Covergirl Project! The Lord has so much to say to us through His Word! “ ...no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him”— 1 Corinthians 2:9 Love to you all, Candace

Be alert servants of the Master, cheerfully expectant. Don’t quit in hard times; pray all the harder. My prayer is that we will continue to be humbled and amazed by the good news and understand in a deeper way how the gospel transforms everything in our lives! We have Darlene Johnson with us again today, and we are so grateful for her and how the Lord has used her to pour into this ministry over the years. Her husband Craig recently retired after 40 years coaching football at both the college and pro levels, and they both continue to bless and pour into coaches, coaches’ wives and athletes through various ministry opportunities. 50 | Covergirl Testimonies & Giving December
Dear Friends, As we celebrate our 50th podcast episode today, we have more testimonials from coaches’ wives who have been participating in The Covergirl Project! These are some of the very special women from our local CWM chapter in Athens, GA. They have been such a blessing in my life- Mandy Robinson, Cheryl Lilly and Morgan Ericson, and I know you will be encouraged by what they share! Just a few quick reminders... #1 Registration is open for our February Gathering, and anyone registered by Christmas Day at midnight will be in a drawing for a gift card to help with travel expenses! TO REGISTER FOR THE GOSPEL COLLECTIVE GATHERING www.coacheswivesministry.com/gathering-2026 #2 We are in the middle of our annual giving campaign- Giving December, and we are specifically trusting the Lord for new monthly partners. I know that sometimes it might be easy to feel like whatever amount you have to give isn’t enough to make a difference, but that is so not true! and so we wanted to create a giving campaign that emphasizes giving what the Lord puts on your heart to do throughout the year. It can be $5 dollars a month, $25 a month, $250 a month - whatever! Monthly giving provides a consistent foundation of support for this podcast among other things, and we would love for you to join in some way! TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE GIVING OPPORTUNITIES www.coacheswivesministry.com/giving-december #3 Final reminder is that The Covergirl Project is on a break from the New Testament until we resume with with Romans on Feb. 1st, but we are going through Isaiah during this time. Some of my favorite verses this week are so encouraging during this season of uncertainty for many coaching families: Isaiah 26:3-4 “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself is the Rock eternal.” I hope you are encouraged by the testimonies, and the steadfast peace we have in the Lord! 49 | Covergirl Testimonies & Giving Tuesday
Dear Friends, In the podcast today, you will get to hear from two of the coaches' wives who have been part of The Covergirl Project this fall. The Lord continues to amaze us with stories of connection, growth and family renewal, and I am so grateful! Today is also Giving Tuesday, and I wanted to say THANK YOU! As a 501c3 non-profit organization, things like this podcast and our annual gathering happen because of the gifts of generous supporters, many of you are part of that group! We thank the Lord for your partnership in the gospel! In light of that generosity, we have been able to provide an amazing resource for coaches. The link to share with your husband is below! So as we kick off this season of giving, moving towards Christmas, let's remember to praise the One who is the Giver of all things- the real reason for this ministry, and without whom we wouldn’t have anything to talk about on the podcast or even breathe in our lungs! I am thankful for Jesus, for all of you and I hope you are encouraged by the episode today! "For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." 48 | The Covergirl Project (holiday plan!) & The Gathering 2026
Dear Friend, In the episode today, I have some special things to share about The Covergirl Project and our upcoming coaches' wives event! For The Covergirl Project, we just finished going through the first half of the New Testament and I'm so thankful for all of our special guests this season, but I do know that everyone is at a different place in their covergirl journey! Maybe you started with us through the New Testament this Fall and got behind, or maybe you've been waiting for a good time to start! You can start today, or catch-up on your reading of Matthew through Acts, use the podcast episodes (#37-47) for encouragement and keep going! We will be back to cover Romans through Revelation on February 1st, 2026! However, if you have finished Acts and are wondering what to do these next 10 weeks over the holidays- don't worry! The Covergirl Project schedule is going to spend time in Isaiah. Why? Because Isaiah is the most quoted prophet in the New Testament, and we just spent time seeing prophecies fulfilled in the life of Jesus. We get to have this next season as a time to be reminded of God's faithfulness in keeping His promises, and Isaiah contains some beautiful passages for Christmas time as well! Remember, wherever you are in the Word, it's all about Jesus and spending time with Him, not the reading plan with boxes to check off your list! Enjoy time with the Lord and the gift of His Word! And finally, registration for our upcoming in-person coaches’ wives event opens TODAY! We have had a CWM Gathering almost every year since the ministry started, but never at a resort-type location. However, at the end of FEB 2026, right after we kick-off the book of Romans, we are hosting a conference in Buford, GA at the Lake Lanier Island Lodge- ALL the details are on our website! HOWEVER the most important thing about the conference is that our focus is going to be on the gospel of Jesus Christ. Because the gospel is not just for unbelievers. The truth of the gospel changes our lives as Christians too, so this gathering is called The Gospel Collective because the gospel is going to be the center of it all. Because if you need hope, if you need peace, if you need grace, if you need to experience forgiveness in your heart towards someone, if you are struggling with anxiety, or in your marriage or parenting- the gospel is the answer. That’s why Paul continued to preach the gospel to the Christians, to the churches and even to himself as he traveled along on his missionary journeys. If you are in need of some good news for any area of your life, register and come be a part of THE GOSPEL COLLECTIVE GATHERING 2026! "But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God. 47 | The Covergirl Project: Acts 13-28 with Erin Rosene
Dear Friend, In this episode we are going into the book of Acts, chapters 13-28 for our Covergirl project. Erin Rosene is with me again to talk about the movement of God and the work of the Holy Spirit in and through the early Christians. In this episode, I also share about the work of the Holy Spirit in connecting Erin and I in the first place! And how He orchestrated for her to talk about Acts with me, because during our recording, I found out that she and her family had actually been to Greece and have seen the places and the things that we are reading about. I share these things as an encouragement to you that He is always working in all of our lives- connections, conversations, all the little details are held in His hands. I hope this episode also encourages you in how the Lord wants us to live spirit-filled lives, and that He is at work for our good and for His glory, even through dark times of persecution and unrest. I am so thankful that He has already brought us through HALF of the New Testament! We celebrate that today with the book of Acts! 46 | The Covergirl Project: Acts 1-12 with Erin Rosene
Dear Friend, In this episode, we are covering the book of Acts, chapters 1-12 in our Covergirl project, and we have the blessing of hearing from Erin Rosene. Her husband TJ has been the mens head basketball coach at Emmanuel University in Franklin Springs, Georgia since 2007. They have 4 kids and many stories of how God has been faithful over the years. What I love about this conversation with Erin, is that she shares a lot of personal applications from verses in just the first few chapters. We talk about mission while keeping family first, Jesus’ name, image and likeness, church and community- all the things! But, just a heads up- we don’t even get to chapters 5- 12- the accounts of Stephen the 1st martyr or even Saul’s conversion! These incredible stories of the early church are so important, but we just ran out of time! So after you listen in, please go read it all for yourself! There are amazing things that the Lord wants to show you in this book of the Bible. Remember also that this is Luke’s sequel to his gospel account, but in this, Luke isn’t interviewing eye witnesses, he is a witness and part of this gospel explosion of the early church. I have been just praying for all of us to be in awe as we read, truly amazed at the power of God in the lives of Jesus’ disciples and so very thankful that we too have the same calling and the same power to live this life! 45 | The Covergirl Project: John 11-21 with Cindy Wild
Dear Friend, In this episode we are covering the second half of John with Cindy Wild here again today! Just like last week, I know you will continue to feel Cindy’s contagious energy and passion for God’s Word, and I pray that you are reading on your own as well. Just a quick encouragement, that as we have been looking for His Name, Image and Likeness in each gospel account, there have been times when there haven’t been any obvious statements about being made in His image, or any names of Jesus that we haven’t seen before, but John contains several “I am” statements that help us to answer those questions- to see who He is, who we are in Him and how we can be like Him in this world. In the first half of John, we read that He is the Bread of Life in John 6, the Light of the World in John 8, both the Door of the Sheep and the Good Shepherd in John 10- so be on the lookout for more of these names! I pray that you will be encouraged today to keep reading and taking it all in, and that even as you read on your own, you are not alone!! The Lord is with us and He is blessing us to be able to do this project together! Love to you all, 💕Candace www.coacheswivesministry.com/the-covergirl-project Get your sporty journal guide! 44 | The Covergirl Project: John 1-10 with Cindy Wild
Dear Friend, In this episode we are covering the first half of John, and we have the joy of hearing from Cindy Wild. Many of you know her as a mentor and friend, and I call her the original Covergirl, because she has gone cover to cover more than anyone I know, and she talks about abiding in God’s Word in probably every conversation she has! She is always challenging and encouraging everyone she meets to get into God’s Word for themselves! But what I love about Cindy is that she really lives out what she preaches. She was a coach’s wife for over 42 years- head football and baseball, has raised 5 kids and now has 15 grandkids, but her husband Danny passed away in 2021 after years of serious health issues. I met her a few years before he passed when she reached out to me through email, because the Lord was calling her to find a way to serve other coaches’ wives and she found me online. Since that connection, it has been a journey of growing together, watching her cling to God’s word through tragedy and suffering and in times of celebration, and so it is truly special to have her on with me today to talk about one of her favorite books of the Bible! 43 | The Covergirl Project: Luke 13-24 with Dr. Rebecca Thompson
Dear Friend, In this episode, we have the privilege of hearing from Dr. Rebecca Thompson as we cover the second half of Luke, chapters 13-24. Rebecca’s husband, Scott, was a division I basketball coach for over 20 years before a battle with cancer. After Scott recovered from cancer, he went on to work for universities as a director of development for cancer centers and athletics until moving into a position as a financial planner. Scott and Rebecca have two grown children and 3 grandkids, currently reside in Arizona, and she is passionate about ministry work with women in recovery, the homeless, foster care and the arts. Rebecca is also a nationally recognized public artist and researcher in biophilic arts, design, and health initiatives. Her inspirational work can be viewed on university campuses, public sites, and private collections across the nation. https://rebeccalthompsonart.com/ I invited her to join me today, first and foremost because of her love for and commitment to God’s Word. And secondly, because she is a doctor much like Luke- trained and educated and accomplished, yet having absolute certainty that no earthly knowledge can compete or compare with the infallible word of God. Today we are going to share just a few things found in the book of Luke about the infallible love of God! 42 | The Covergirl Project: Luke 1-12
Dear Friend, We are going to do something a little different this week as we talk about the first half of Luke. Since it is the 3rd gospel account so far, it might feel like you are just reading the same stories again and again, so I am going to share a few ways that the book of Luke is unique. But I will also be sharing the ONE WORD from ONE VERSE that has impacted me the most to encourage you on your journey. As our goal has been to cover EVERY word, I wanted to highlight this one impactful word today! “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor.” -Luke 4:18-19 Love to you all, 💕Candace Go to our website for more information! www.coacheswivesministry.com/the-covergirl-project Get your sporty journal guide! Dear Friend, In this episode we are covering the second half of Mark, chapters 9-16. Farrah Sinclair is here again and we are wrapping up this action packed book of the Bible! Remember, we are simply sharing our observations about Mark, but the Lord wants to teach you things as well, so we hope you are reading along on your own! Whatever your struggles or challenges might be, I am praying for the Lord to meet you where you are- to reveal to you WHO He is, WHO you are in Him and how to live like Him in this broken world. He gave His life to ransom us, and has given us His Word so we can grow in that relationship with Him. Praying for you on your journey! 40 | The Covergirl Project: Mark 1-8 with Farrah Sinclair
Dear Friend, In this episode, our focus is the first half of Mark, chapters 1-8. I’m excited to have Farrah Sinclair with us again! You might have “met” her in episode 34 already, but if not, you can go back and listen in to our conversation about faith, family and her life as a coach’s wife. Her husband Scott is the Director of Strength and Conditioning for the University of Georgia Football team, and she is leading 2 local Covergirl groups here in Athens, GA this fall. It is such a joy to see the Lord working and to work alongside her in ministry, and our discussion today is really all about what the Lord is teaching us about following Jesus’ example to live on mission! As we share just a few of the things that we've learned from Mark, remember to keep reading along for yourself, because the Lord has amazing things to show you as well! 38 | The Covergirl Project: Matthew 1-15 with Darlene Johnson
Dear Friend, As we start this project through the New Testament, we have the joy of hearing from Darlene Johnson, who has been part of Coaches’ Wives Ministry from the beginning. Her husband Craig recently retired from 40 years of coaching football at both the college and pro levels, and together they now have a business called “NJCO, LLC.” which serves as a sports and ministry business. Darlene is also on the board of trustees for FCA, a former teaching leader for Bible Study Fellowship, mother of 2 adult daughters and above all a woman who loves the Lord and loves His Word. It is such a blessing to have this conversation with her today. In this episode, Darlene and I will just be sharing what has impacted us in chapters 1-15 of Matthew, what we have learned about the names, image and likeness of Jesus and how it applies to our lives. As we share, I pray that you will be encouraged in your own reading. The Lord wants to show you things as you read on your own, but please remember that you are not alone! We are doing this together! “...the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord endures forever.”And this is the word that was preached to you.”-1 Peter 1:24-25 Love to you all, 💕Candace Go to our website to sign-up! www.coacheswivesministry.com/the-covergirl-project Get your sporty journal guide! Hi Friends! I’m excited to share with you today my conversation with Edrina Burnette. Her husband Dan is the strength and conditioning coach for the NC State football team. In this episode we talk about faith, family, her passion for serving through sewing and the small business that has come from that- AND life as a coach's wife! I have loved hearing from our special guests these past few weeks- from Farrah Sinclair, with her passion to serve her community through her DIY studio, and Edrina, our guest today, who is using her creative skills to serve others in a unique way. It is amazing that we have all been given gifts and abilities to use for the Lord! If you are not yet sure what they are or how to use them, my prayer is that you will get some ideas as you listen in today. I know you will be encouraged by this conversation! 33 | Strength and Conditioning for Coaches' Wives
Dear Friend, In today’s episode, I just wanted to quickly share about a 3-week class we are offering called strength and conditioning for coaches’ wives. Even if you can’t join in this time around, I wanted to share the details and the heart behind this opportunity. My husband is a football coach and a strength and conditioning coach, and we’ve talked before about the importance of the weight room. That the success journey of any athlete, or any team of any sport begins with the strength training- strengthening and conditioning the body for a specific purpose. This 3 week class is designed to do this for your spiritual health, so that in whatever you have been called to do....“you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need.“ Colossians 1:11 And if you don’t know where you are in your faith, OR what your purpose is- don’t worry! That is part of it too. We won’t be able to cover everything in 3 weeks, but we will be able to lay a foundation, and it’s short and sweet to fit the busy coaching lifestyle! I hope you can join us! “For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things…” 1 Timothy 4:8 (NIV) Love to you all, 💕Candace LEARN MORE & REGISTER HERE: www.coacheswivesministry.com/strength-training 🎵Spotify Playlist: HIS Name, Image, Likeness Join our private Facebook Community for Coaches’ Wives: Created for the Season podcast is designed to provide biblical perspective and practical tools for coaches' wives and their families.

32 | Jesus Under Pressure
Dear Friend, The coaching life can be an emotional journey, and not just because of the highs and lows of wins and losses. It is a life often filled with intense pressure, unexpected transitions and what might appear to be unanswered prayers and unfulfilled career goals and dreams. You may be currently waiting to know if you will be moving, if there is a transition coming, if your kids will be changing schools, and your friends and family may not even understand what you are going through- it is a difficult season to walk through. However, we can find comfort because Jesus Himself was “...a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief...” (Isaiah 53:3), and before His death, He cried out to His Father in the Garden of Gethsemane, wrestling with the reality of death before Him. The name Gethsemane (“gat shemanim” in Hebrew), means “oil press”, and it is impossible to comprehend the immense pressure He felt as He carried the weight of the sin of the world to the cross. So as we celebrate Christ’s victory over sin and death this Easter season, may we also remember that our Savior understands pressure, struggle and agony, and He is with us through whatever gardens we are being called to walk through. He is the resurrection and life, He is all about freedom and joy and eternal glory, but He also understands weakness and pain and surrender, and He has given us a beautiful example of what it looks like to honor the Father while wrestling with the Father’s will. So thankful for Jesus, our Savior! Happy Easter & blessings to your family! 31 | Titles, Roles & Recognition
Dear Friend, Knowing Jesus, His power, His person and His precious love for us changes everything. And to make it all possible, Jesus came to earth and took action, showing us His saving power, but also telling us things about Himself. Jesus called Himself by different titles using illustrations and examples throughout the gospels - so helpful for us as we seek to know Him more! So today we are going to look at some of those titles from the book of John, and I have a simple outline to share that can help us grow in our prayer and praise of Him. And BONUS 🎉 as we grow in our understanding of who Jesus is, we will be better able to weave in and out of our own various titles and roles, hiring and firing experiences and even seasons of motherhood with a little more stability, because our identity will be more firmly established in Him! 30 | Jesus & Our Daily Lives
Dear Friend, The name Jesus comes from the Hebrew word Yeshua which means Yahweh saves. We know that He is THE Savior, and our only hope of eternal salvation. However, we need Jesus as the Savior of all the things in our daily lives as well! It’s easy to look to ourselves, other people and other things as “functional saviors” instead of the One who is there to rescue, deliver and save us in the midst of our daily trials and challenges. This is what I’ve been wrestling with this week, and meditating on the name of Jesus has been so impactful. I’m excited to share with you today and I hope you enjoy EPISODE 30!! 29 | Jesus & Our Families: Special Testimony
Dear Friend, As we continue our series, talking about identity in Christ and being all about the name of Jesus, I wanted to share with you a testimony that is very special and personal to me. Our son Andrew recently shared his story at the school where my husband coaches, and today’s episode is an audio recording of that night. What has happened in Andrew’s life is something that only the Lord can do, and I hope you will be encouraged to keep praying for your loved ones. Keep praying in the name of Jesus for your family, regardless of how dark the circumstances and hopeless things might seen. There is no other name by which we are saved, (Acts 4:12) and there is no parenting skill or wisdom of man that can compare to the power of Jesus. Love to you all, 💕Candace P.S. A great song to worship with as you pray over your family is “I speak Jesus” by Charity Gayle, found in our playlist! 28 | Isaiah 43: Called by Name & Given Identity, Purpose & Security
Dear Friend, Once you start looking for references to name, image and likeness in the Bible, you will literally see them everywhere. It is very clear that names are important to God, in fact, calling things by name is God’s idea- He even named the stars! (Psalm 147:4) However, in the greatness of who He is, it’s easy to forget how personal He is as well. So if you are feeling overlooked, overwhelmed or overcome by the chaos of life, you can know that the Lord of all creation cares about the smallest details in our lives. He calls us by name, giving us identity, purpose and security because we belong to Him. But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.” - Isaiah 43:1-3 Love to you all, 💕Candace To join or learn more about the Spring zoom study with other coaches’ wives, text “Bible Study” to #1-833-237-0082 Join our private Facebook Community for Coaches’ Wives: Created for the Season podcast is designed to provide biblical perspective and practical tools for coaches' wives and their families.

27 | Season 3 Kick Off: His Name, His Image & His Likeness
Dear Friend, In our world today, NIL, social media and other cultural shifts have made it more challenging to be a coaching family. Most of us got into the profession with a love of the game, a love for the athletes, and a desire to help them to succeed both on and off the field. That can still happen, and it is happening! I know God is using you and your coach even if you don’t always see it! But there are more business components now, which means more rules to follow, more hats to wear and more time required. However, there are also more opportunities to bring the gospel into the mission field of sports than ever before. And we can acknowledge to the Lord (sometimes in tears!), that it’s really hard to keep up with it all and to keep our eyes on Jesus! But the Lord reminds us in His Word that the ultimate goal of everything is to lift Him up, and He is with us in all that we do. He made us in His image, after His likeness, for the glory of His name, and that’s what we are going to be talking about in this podcast and through our Bible studies. Even our boutique items will be reflecting this theme, because it is so so important AND so foundational and so full of encouragement and hope! We were created by Him, for Him and with a purpose- and He is always with us! Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” Genesis 1:26 Love to you all, 💕Candace To join or learn more about the Spring zoom study with other coaches’ wives, text “Bible Study” to #1-833-237-0082 Join our Free Fan Club Membership! Dear Friend, I can’t believe that we are already wrapping-up Season 2! I am so thankful for our guests this season and the opportunity we’ve had to go through the book of Ephesians together! I will be sharing a little today about what’s upcoming for Coaches’ Wives Ministry. I will also be sharing some of what I’ve been walking through personally these past few years since we launched as a ministry, and what I’ve been learning with Jesus through some very difficult seasons. I pray you will be encouraged through it, and that even if you are entering into a season of transition, job loss or battles of any kind, that your heart will be strengthened by His Word to stand firm. “...in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” - Romans 8:37-39 Love to you all, 💕Candace Coaches' Wives! 25 | Ephesians 6: Standing Firm in Battle
Dear Friend, I’m sure your husband has coached those athletes who have the “it” factor. You can’t really explain it, but they can rise above challenges and accomplish things on the field or court, on the mat or even in the weight room that go beyond normal athletic ability. As we talk about the armor of God in Ephesians 6 today, we need to remember that as Christians, we too can have that “it” factor to walk through any battle with peace, strength, confidence and wisdom. The armor of God gives us everything we need to STAND FIRM in every battle of every season in a supernatural way that goes beyond explanation. Ultimately, what we have as believers in the battle is Jesus Christ as our captain, and no one has ever had a captain like Him. I will close with a quote that I share in our episode today, and it is a great encouragement for Standing Firm in battle. So thankful for the opportunity to walk with you through the entire book of Ephesians over these past few weeks! “Trajan, the great Roman Captain, when he was on the field of battle would take his own armor off and put it on his wounded men. He would tear his own garments up and use them as bandages, but that's nothing compared to Jesus. Because Jesus Christ tore himself to deal with your wounds, and he took the spear that was meant for us into his own heart so that all of our deaths can be paid. Put on the full armor of God- because Jesus Christ made himself vulnerable for you, you can become protected in Him." -Tim Keller Love to you all, 💕Candace To join or learn more about the Standing Firm zoom study with other coaches’ wives, text “Bible Study” to #1-833-237-0082 SUPPORT SEASON 2! 24 | Ephesians 5: Standing Firm in Love & Sacrifice
Dear Friend, If you have been married more than a day, you’ve probably realized that your husband is not perfect- and neither are you! Marriage brings out the best and the worst in us and it matures us in Christ in a way that no other relationship can do. We do face unique challenges in our marriages as coaches’ wives (henceforth terms like single parent and football widow), but when we remember that Jesus is the perfect husband and we are His bride the church, everything else seems to gain proper perspective. So as we look at Ephesians 5 today in this episode, we will be focusing on the love and sacrifice of Jesus- standing firm in God’s love and sacrifice for us and overflowing from there. This should be the basis of all our relationships, and I’m excited to take a look at these life-changing truths with you. “.....And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” Ephesians 5:2 Love to you all, 💕Candace To join or learn more about the Standing Firm zoom study with other coaches’ wives, text “Bible Study” to #1-833-237-0082 SUPPORT SEASON 2! 23 | Ephesians 4: Standing Firm in Unity
Dear Friend, In today’s episode, we are looking at standing firm in unity. We know the importance of this for teamwork, marriage, family and church, but what actually is biblical unity? The definition of unity is, “being together or at one with someone or something,” and as we will see in Ephesians 4 the goal is not just unity in and off itself, but unity around what is right and true- all for God’s glory. In addition, unity is not uniformity, because we all have different gifts given by Him for His glory and the maturity of His children (Ephesians. 4:11-13). However, we are all called to put off our old selves, and put on the new because we are new creations in Christ- to NOT be unified with our old ways of life. My prayer is that through this scripture in Ephesians we will be encouraged towards true unity and maturity, reflecting His righteousness and holiness as the body of Christ. “I saw a huge crowd, too huge to count. Everyone was there—all nations and tribes, all races and languages. And they were standing, dressed in white robes and waving palm branches, standing before the Throne and the Lamb and heartily singing: Salvation to our God on his Throne!” Revelation 7:9-12 Love to you all, 💕Candace To join or learn more about the Standing Firm zoom study with other coaches’ wives, text “Bible Study” to #1-833-237-0082 SUPPORT SEASON 2! 22 | Ephesians 3: Standing Firm in His Power (even when you're feeling weak and overwhelmed!)
Dear Friend, In today’s episode, we are looking at Ephesians 3 and standing firm in God’s power. I love how Paul begins the chapter reflecting on his own weaknesses and salvation story! “To me, though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ…” Ephesians 3:8 Paul lived in such humility, calling himself the least of all the saints, yet at the same time He was constantly bragging! However, his boasting was all about the power of the Lord. This is the humble confidence we have when we know who we are in Christ and walk in His power, and I’m praying for us to be strengthened in these truths today! 21 | Ephesians 2: Standing Firm in His Grace (even when you're feeling the pressure to perform!)
Dear Friend, It’s easy to say that we are saved by grace, but we still might be stuck in the cycle of performance in our everyday lives! In Ephesians 2, we see not only how the Lord brings us from death to life by His grace through faith for salvation, but that the grace continues on as we walk out the plans He has for us. God wants us to EXPERIENCE His grace in our daily lives, because we truly can’t do it on our own! As we continue through Ephesians with chapter 2, I’m praying for us all to have joy and peace in the journey as we STAND FIRM in His grace- because the pressure is off! 20 | Ephesians 1: Standing Firm in His Blessings (even when you're not feeling blessed!)
Dear Friend, We may not always feel "blessed" to be coaches' wives, because it's not easy and we do face many unique challenges! However, God wants us to see beyond the struggles and to not only KNOW our blessings, but to EXPERIENCE them in the midst of all the craziness and instability of the coaching lifestyle. Today we are kicking off our study STANDING FIRM, going through the book of Ephesians over the next several weeks. Ephesians is a letter written by the Apostle Paul to the church in Ephesus, and I love this letter because Paul reminds me of a coach. Just like our husbands spend countless hours instructing athletes, encouraging them to have correct stances and mentalities and strengthening them along the way in every way, Paul is going to coach us through the truth of the gospel over and over again until we are standing firm and living it out by the power of God. Then he will remind us over and over again of these truths as we continue to saturate ourselves in the Word, be part of the team- the church, and work it out together until we meet Jesus face-to-face in heaven... and Jesus is the ULTIMATE COACH! This episode focuses on standing firm in the blessings we have in Christ, and as we will see in Ephesians 1, we have safety, security and so much more! Dear Friend, In today’s episode, we get to have a conversation with Melinda Wolford, a seasoned football coach’s wife whose husband currently coaches at the University of Kentucky. Dear Friend, We are in the final week of our three week mini-series: Clear eyes. Full hearts. Can’t lose. Although we know that the Bible says we have victory in Christ, how can we define what that “winning” looks like daily? And what do we do when we suffer losses in this life? We won’t have all the answers until heaven, but starting each day with the Lord and His Word is a WIN that we can experience daily. It is where we get our clear-eyes perspective and full-hearts of hope. I’m excited to share this episode with you, as we grow together in these truths! Love to you all, 💕Candace SUPPORT SEASON 2!
