I'm trying out an episode title. Turns out it's a bit tricky. So far, these are free-range conversations; we never seem to settle into a single topic. Right now there’s just too much outrage to go around.Nonetheless, we have an excellent episode for you!To start, you get to meet the new guy! Jim's a retired professor, local activist, and former mayoral candidate in upstate New York. He's a terrific addition to the team.Our discourse starts with Chuck Schumer and the potential government shutdown then tackles the erosion of norms and the rule of law. We pass through people being disappeared and consider what Jon calls “government by personal favor.” This is the antithesis of what America is supposed to stand for and makes the executive branch an engine for corruption.
