    Are mosquitos useful or do they exist to annoy us? What are true bugs? Kevin and Daniel talk about life in the desert and some of their smallest inhabitants. In this episode they cover some of the bugs, insects and arachnids that make their lives in the desert. Deer, beavers, squirrels and javelinas are some of the mammals that can be found in the Chihuahuan Desert.     Kevin is a birder and is familiar with classic birds that are common to the area. In this episode they discuss hawks, doves and other species that at one point were unusual to the Chihuahuan Desert but have now become common. They also explain nuisance birds that people find annoying and beautiful birds that seem to be AI generated.     What started as a demonstration garden in 1999 the Chihuahuan Desert Garden has grown in popularity. In this episode Daniel and Kevin talk about the flora that can be found in the garden.
