DeSantis Thinks He Can Rig Florida — Again

Virginia’s redistricting amendment is finally on the ballot after the state supreme court finally cleared the way for the April 21st election to move forward — an election that could dramatically shape how the mid-decade redistricting battle moves forward. In this episode, Marina Jenkins and John Bisognano break down what’s at stake in Virginia and why former President Barack Obama is encouraging voters to get involved. They also discuss Florida, where Gov. Ron DeSantis continues to aggressively pursue joining the redistricting arms race, and how Utah Republicans taking new steps undermine a voter-approved measure to curb gerrymandering.

Trump Just Called Voting a “Privilege”

During his State of the Union address, Donald Trump called voting a “privilege.” Not a fundamental right guaranteed to all Americans by the Constitution — a privilege. This is beyond troubling, but it’s also part of a larger pattern by Trump & Republicans’ to undermine our democracy. In the latest episode of Drawing the Line, Marina Jenkins & John Bisognano break down Trump’s disturbing rhetoric and how it plays directly into the recent wave of mid-decade redistricting.🌐 Visit Our Website | 🗳️ Support Our Work Follow the National Democratic Redistricting Committee: Bluesky | X/Twitter | Facebook | Instagram | Threads

Why Are Republicans So Scared of Voters?

Republicans started an unnecessary mid-decade redistricting war because they thought they could get away with it. Instead, voters and lawmakers across the country are pushing back — and they can’t handle it. They are turning to the courts to block voter-led ballot initiatives, stall reforms, and revive extreme legal theories to protect their gerrymandered maps.In this episode of Drawing the Line, Marina Jenkins and John Bisognano break down how Republicans are trying to cheat their way to victory in the 2026 midterms and give an update on the latest redistricting news across the country in states like Virginia, Maryland, Utah, and beyond.🌐 Visit Our Website | 🗳️ Support Our Work Follow the National Democratic Redistricting Committee: Bluesky | X/Twitter | Facebook | Instagram | Threads
