34 - Stop being a best-kept secret
It’s not enough in this day and age to be amazing at what you do.You need visibility too! That is probably one of the toughest pills I have had to swallow through my career and personal life over the last few years.I always thought I could let my work and my actions do the talking. Sometimes, it worked; often, it didn’t.Perhaps you’ve arrived at that conclusion too.You could be the best human being ever… You could be an expert and doing excellent work…If you are not in parallel with that actively making sure people see you and understand you, you are missing out. Big time.Exactly like I used to.In today’s episode, I get tactical on the best steps you can take to build your visibility day after day. So you can stop being a best-kept secret and get the world to see what you bring! On the agenda:👉 The perks of being visible👉 4 steps to share your voice consistentlyEnjoy this episode! 🔊 “Think about what platform would work best to express yourself. What environment or situations would allow you to feel the most like you, and at the same time achieve your visibility goals? Do you need to post on social media – if yes, on which platform and in which format? Should you take the lead of a project or a community? Should you put all your effort into public speaking? Or connect more in 1:1 situations? Find your angle and double down on that.”Curious? 33 - How to speak so people listen
Have you ever felt not listened to?Had what you said been ignored, even if it was important or a good idea?If you are trying to build your visibility, get your message across, or persuade someone, not being listened to might feel like you are hitting a wall. Discouraging and frustrating.Often, it’s not about you as a person, but about 1 simple thing. The way you spoke didn’t grab their brains’ attention or triggered red flags up there. And that can easily be fixed. In today’s episode, I explore how to communicate in compelling ways and get your message across by leveraging human psychology. So you can feel confident that people will listen. On the agenda:👉 Communication & the human brain👉 3 core ideas to speak in compelling waysEnjoy this episode! 🔊 “Simplify what you say. Perhaps you heard this advice before: "Make it so easy to understand, even your grandma can make sense of it and explain it.”? That’s the idea. The human brain is built to look for threats. Anything that requires your brain to work hard to understand something is a threat. Your brain will be like: "Nope, not spending my calories on you peeps, bye bye. Go make someone else’s brain work hard."”Curious? 32 - The courage to be authentic
I solemnly swear that I am up to being authentic. And that this podcast hasn’t been created with AI.But from the depths of my human brain and life experiences. At a time when you can’t tell anymore what is real or not…When things shared start to look awfully like the same everywhere…When people are scared to be cancelled if they don’t come across the right way or if they share the messy, unpolished bits…Showing up with authenticity almost feels like an act of rebellion and bravery.Yet, I believe this is the best way to move through the world and communicate with others too.For all the peace of mind and beautiful opportunities it can create. In today’s episode, I explore how to cultivate and communicate with authenticity intentionally. So you can bring out the truer version of you and get everything you deserve. On the agenda:👉 Why authenticity matters more than ever👉 What it means to show up authentic👉 How to practice authenticity actively and courageouslyEnjoy this episode! 🔊 “”Just be yourself” is the usual, and most useless, authenticity advice I have ever received. What helped me more was to look at past moments when I would intuitively say that I was authentic, and look at my thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in those moments. That gives me a practical baseline to recognize if I am showing up authentic or not in other situations, and what to aim for.”Curious? 31 - To share or not to share
To share or not to share, that is the question…Not to sound too dramatic, but there is a lot of drama around sharing personal stories. A lot of confusion and subjective conflicting opinions.Sharing personal things makes you relatable and human - so you should share. Sharing personal things makes you unprofessional or “too much”– so you shouldn’t share.I believe there is power in sharing personal experiences to influence and connect with others. Fun ones, vulnerable ones, random ones. And it will serve you well if you are intentional about when you do this.In today’s episode, I walk you through the practical 3-step process I use to decide whether or not something is worth sharing openly. So you can be more comfortable sharing your experiences too.On the agenda:👉 The benefits of sharing personal stories👉 How to decide if something is worth sharing👉 How to share with confidenceEnjoy this episode! 🔊 “There is power in sharing the raw, real, vulnerable moments. These tough situations are part of human life. I read this quote somewhere on Instagram: “Someone somewhere has wounds in the exact shape of your words.”. Sharing can help others put words on the experience they are going through and make a difference in their lives. But only if you share from a place of clarity and maturity. When you have processed properly the emotions yourself, and can see what the lessons are.”Curious? 29 - Creating a world people want to step into
Did you ever notice that the most compelling people are easy to understand?Think about the last time you became someone’s fan or bought someone’s product or hired someone or trusted a leader without too much hesitation. They probably showed you enough to build credibility quickly. They probably have values or a message you resonate with. They probably made you feel a certain way that made you want to know more. You could easily grasp what they stand for and who they are, based on their behaviors and words. Is it as obvious when people step into your world?Everyone who enters your life, personally or professionally, will decide whether they see value in it. The easier it is to understand your world, the faster people can make that decision. And of course, the faster you can attract the right quality people and opportunities in!In today’s episode, I dive into the core elements to reflect on so you can make your world clear and compelling for others. And get all the benefits from it!On the agenda:👉 The power of creating your world👉 4 core elements to define the universe others will experience👉 How to make these elements obvious in real lifeEnjoy this episode! 🔊 “I would love you to end up in a place where people would easily say: "Yes, I know them. They stand for XYZ. They are all about ABC. These are the 3 words I would use to describe them. These are the 3 things they are really good at. This is what happens if I spend time in their world." Because that level of clarity makes it easy for people to decide whether they want to step into your world in the first place. Whether they want to know more about who you are and what you do. Whether they have similar values and would belong in your world. Which ultimately translates into whether they want to hire you, work with you, buy some of your products, listen to your ideas etc....”Curious? 27 - Sharing your voice with confidence
Do you give yourself full permission to be seen, heard, and understood? The first step I see people take when it comes to improving visibility is often to learn tons of communication tips and tricks. What if people make fun of me or criticize my ideas? What if I have nothing original to share? Why waste my time if it’s just to end up in the noise?Just to name a few!In today’s episode, I dig out all those disempowering mindsets and share practical ways to reframe them. So you can start sharing your voice with more confidence and enjoyment! On the agenda:👉 Why self-expression might feel scary👉 The most common limiting beliefs to reframe👉 How to give yourself full permission to use your voiceEnjoy this episode! 🔊 “Your brain might be perceiving possible loss. Meaning you might lose social connections, opportunities, or clients, things that might be relevant to a happy future, etc.. Not what your brain wishes you at all!”Curious? 26 - Finding your unique voice
You know you are amazing at what you do. But does the world understand it?I've stopped counting the brilliant people I've met who never get what they deserve. The entrepreneur who doesn’t get enough eyes on their business. The leader who doesn’t have enough influence to change their organization. The talented and dedicated professional who gets overlooked for promotions. The generalist who gets ignored because they are passionate about too many things. It frankly breaks my heart every time I see so much potential, human goodness, and impact go to waste. And with the years, I’ve come to realize that it’s linked to 1 thing only. Building visibility in a way that gets you seen, heard, and understood. In today’s episode, I will talk about the process of figuring out what you stand for and start owning and expressing your unique voice.
