Eerily Beloved

Eerily Beloved, we are gathered here to explore the backdrop that gave us the iconic imagery of Twilight and the X-Files that some twisted few exploit for darker narratives. Each week, join host Madeline, and a rotating door of guests, as they dive into creepy cryptids, sasquatch sightings, paranormal places, and true crime cases that make the pacific northwest region, and its beautifully vast landscape, infamous.

    Maury Island Incident

On June 21st, 1947, Harold Dahl claimed six donut-shaped objects appeared over Maury Island on the Puget Sound. The next morning, a man in a black suit showed up at his door, and recited the entire incident back to him word for word with a warning: stay quiet or else. What followed was a chain of events nobody could have predicted. Was it a hoax? A government cover-up? Or did something genuinely unexplainable happen that summer?Have an eerie PNW encounter of your own or a case you want us to look into? send it to [email protected] us on instagram @eerilybelovedpodcastIntro music by Don Edwards

This week, we're revising Heceta Head to recap our experience at the lighthouse and then diving into ADCs (after death communications). Witches of Rathdrum & the Murders of Rita & Ron Marcussen

In the early 1970's the small town of Rathdrum, Idaho was plagued with many rumors and tall tales...at least that's what everyone thought until a young couple vanishes without a trace. Newspaper headlines make it hard to believe what's fact and what's fiction: Witch cult, aliens, satanic rituals, murder or all of the above? Have an eerie PNW encounter of your own or a case you want us to look into? send it to [email protected] us on instagram @eerilybelovedpodcastIntro music by Don Edwards

    Cascade Stick Indians

Long before settlers arrived, the Salish, Lummi, Yakama, and Cayuse tribes knew to fear what lived in the woods: malevolent forest spirits so dangerous that many tribes refused to even speak their true name. They are known as Stick Indians. Said to have the power to paralyze, hypnotize, or cause insanity, and in some traditions even eat people who fall prey to them. This week we're diving into one of the Pacific Northwest's oldest and most chilling indigenous legends. What are the Stick Indians, what do different tribes believe about them, and why are people still reporting encounters in the Cascades today?Have an eerie PNW encounter of your own or a case you want us to look into? send it to [email protected] us on instagram @eerilybelovedpodcastIntro music by Don Edwards

    Dammasch State Hospital

In 1961, Dammasch State Hospital opened its doors in Wilsonville, Oregon, a psychiatric institution meant to ease the overcrowding crisis in the state's mental health system. For over three decades, hundreds of patients with mental illness and addiction cycled through its halls. By 1995, it was shuttered, its buildings eventually demolished and paved over with a housing development. But the stories didn't disappear with the bulldozers. This week we dig into the dark history of Dammasch: the patients, the controversies, the paranormal reports, and what it means when a community literally builds over its past.Have an eerie PNW encounter of your own? send it to [email protected] us on instagram @eerilybelovedpodcastIntro music by Don Edwards
