April 2026: Pierre Lacocque of Mississippi Heat
With Pierre Lacocque at the controls and harmonica along with an artistic collective of veteran and rising new artists, Mississippi Heat continues to look ahead as it stretches the boundaries of Chicago blues. Mississippi Heat has been bringing the blues to the world for more than 30 years now. Pierre talks about the origins of the band, his influences, the current album Don't Look Back and the current tour schedule. The album is a well-rounded gift of a blend of both the old school and new school of blues featuring vocals from long-time vocalist Inetta Visor as well as Daneshia Hamilton, Sheryl Youngblood and guests Omar Coleman (a harmonica duet partner, too!) and Danielle Nicole plus many more. February-March 2026: Tim Carman of Parlor Greens
Parlor Greens is a cool throwback to the days of the organ trio. Tim Carman (GA-20) on drums, Jimmy James (True Loves, formerly Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio) on guitar, and Adam Scone (Scone Cash Players, The Sugarman 3) on organ are a stellar conglomeration of players that make this a coast to coast supergroup. On the cusp of their second album coming out in April, Carman sat down with me for a quaint interview on the group's history, how they write and their upcoming tours. Get your greens. They'll be good for you as you soak in some of the tracks from Emeralds. In the meantime, check out their stuff on the Colemine Records website or anywhere you get your music. You can always stream the episode on elmcityradio.com
