Anna Wincek....sorry! BIGGBY'S BARISTA OF THE YEAR Anna Wincek is back from the trip that came with that honor she so deservingly won. First, briefly, Taylor things, a Toledo chicken murder, a 419 native on Jeopardy and a few other quick things!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Biggby Barista of the Year (Again?!)
Last December I read about Biggby's Barista of the Year being right here! Anna Wincek at the Maumee location on the Trail. “As somebody who has experienced a lot of hardship, I know that everybody else is going through just as much, so I want to make sure that the interaction that they have with me is a good one,” she said. “If it’s one good interaction for their entire day, at least they had that one good one.” What an incredibly thoughtful and conscientious person! Anna is trying to make it back to back years as the BOTY so I jumped at the chance to have her on so you could consider visiting her and her team, and voting for her! DO THAT HERE! Part of her win last year has her headed on the trip of a lifetime in just a few. Her first time out of the country will be to a bit of an obscure African locale. I hope you enjoy our chat!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

An Interesting Name
A friend invited me to Water For Ishmael's International Dinner and Culture Walk a few weeks ago. I'd heard of them and the event for some time but my first time attending already has me excited to be a part of next year's festivities. What IS WFI!? Let's ask their ED Janelle Metzger, and Moriah Yates, that question and many more, including how they can pull off their work in what's unfortunately become a very anti-immigrant climate, not just here, but in many places across the globe. Litter League Returns
Adam Cassi, from Keep Toledo's Lucas County Beautiful, and I have not caught up in a bit, and I had to cancel on him last week, so since he's got some work things going on I suggested we just record out catching up! Ella Langley may be the hottest thing in music and she's here this week. 92% of Ohioans support our libraries. You'd think they'd be the last place to be politicized and lose funding, but down is left and black is yellow. New Toledo Kid Mayor Jamie Howard
One of my favorite visits each year! 10 year old Jamie Howard is the new Kid Mayor of Toledo and she DOES NOT WANT YOUR FEET ON THE DESK! She also would like a dog or two, loves music and math and wants to be a realtor. More Expensive but Not Better
I had an epiphany while watching a baseball game last night but first... Welcome to the fraternity kids!Maybe non profits are the solution to saving them. They're a First
Sophia Perricone and Heather Pollauf have been before separately, but they're on together here, just as they are each morning on WTOL 11, which is a bit of history for the channel.
