European Echo Podcast

In this, the first part of the third European Echo podcast, Charlie interviews artist Xavier Robles de Medina ahead of his first solo exhibition, at Catinca Tabacaru Gallery on the LES in NYC. It's not a particularly conventional interview. Mostly we ended up talking about one of the things that interests us, the creativity involved in people's consumption habits. It does skirt around some of Xavier's attitudes to his work, but in keeping with his general perspective, we didn't spend any time talking about what it means, or the intention behind it.

In this, the second European Echo podcast, Charlie is joined by social artists Domenique Himmelsbach-de Vries. The discussion starts on the subject of education and how this affects artists and moves on to talking more generally about the artist's role in contemporary society.

With guest Georgie Sinclair, the first European Echo podcast will cover Red Vienna, the period between 1918 and 1934 when Vienna was governed by the first democratically elected socialist government which ushered in a massive social house-building programme.
