His passion for preaching, teaching, disciplemaking, and missions continues to shape his work at Samford, where he leads the Christian Ministry degree program and prepares students for lifelong service in the church and beyond. Dr. Guffin holds degrees from Samford University and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (MDiv, PhD). He and his wife, Beth, have two grown children, Blake and Bailey, and he enjoys college football and the outdoors.

Timmy and his wife, Maggie Bea, have five children (Maddux, Sophie, Theo, Sam, and Jude) and are members of Highland Baptist Church.
