Ep 26 - Healed from trauma! (Daniel Grose)
Daniel Grose is married to his wife Rachel & a father of 4 boys. As a young child, Daniel experienced trauma through both his Dad & step Dad. When he later got married, he was dead set on not being like his Dad. But he realized that avoiding the mistakes of your father alone, is not a winning strategy. Eric Patton & his wife Jenny are the founders of Inspire Change Collective. Eric has worked with over 100 clients as a relationship life coach. His specialty is helping clients change the story they're telling themselves, allowing them to remove limiting beliefs. Dwayne Jackson is a father of 3 & husband of 9 years. He experienced deep pain when his 2 cousins were murdered in gang violence 10 years ago. His heart was heavy & he wanted to do whatever he could to prevent other kids from falling victim to the street life. Along with his wife Karyna, they started a ministry that reached kids & taught them to live with a purpose through the game of basketball. Dwayne has combined his heart for young people & his God-given talent of basketball to create "Hoops On Mission" in SW Florida. He has mentored countless numbers of young kids from all walks of life. Two of the students he mentored starting in 4th grade, have gone on to play basketball at D1 colleges. But every student that has come through his doors has learned what it is to live with purpose through Jesus Christ & be a light in the world. The Project is a 75 hour crucible for men looking to put themselves to the ultimate test physically, mentally & emotionally. 25 men competed, but only 7 finished. Lou has used that experience as a metaphor for his life. Never quit, just because it gets hard. He shares the power of discipline in his life from getting up at 3am, prioritizing physical fitness & being the best father & husband he can be for his family. Phillip Koontz has achieved one of the most difficult challenges in the military by becoming a Navy Seal. There were 223 in his class & only 21 finished. As if this wasn't hard enough, he did this while his wife was battling cancer. There is no doubt that Phillip has endured many tough challenges in his life. But he never quit when things got tough. Phillip now travels as a speaker & trainer internationally. He teaches on topics such as overcoming adversity, team building & mental toughness. Phillip credits his success to his Faith in God. He spent 4 years as a Community Life Pastor at The Vineyard Church. He also worked as a regional manager with Destiny Rescue, a non-profit organization which rescues, restores & protects children trapped in sexual exploitation & slavery. Darin Hazle found his purpose serving our country in the Army. But he quickly fell into drugs & alcohol. It started as an occasional thing, but his addiction spiraled out of control.
