Eve's Bayou: Quintessential Southern Gothic Storytelling
Join Steph and Jess for a Southern Gothic (SOGO) Summer with 1997’s Eve’s Bayou. We ooo and aww over the gorgeous swampy aesthetic, discuss our thoughts on“that scene”, and play a fun new game, 6 degrees of Samuel L Jackson. See ya later Pineapple Thief!
-
122
Frequency: Sci Fi-Fantasy-True Crime Lite
Join Steph and Jess as we wrap up springing “Back in Time” with 2000’s Frequency, starring Jesus and Randy Quaid’s brother. Steph summed up our feelings of this rewatch perfectly,” It was hot garbage, took too long to get there and doesn’t make any f*cking sense at the end.” Oddly enough, that describes most Dennis Quaid movies.. Go Mets! Enjoying the show? Buy us a popcorn 🍿 and help keep Filmgazers rolling!buymeacoffee.com/filmgazers

Time Cop: Time Machines and Machine Guns
Join Steph and Jess as we Spring Back in Time with 1994’s TimeCop. We discuss Jean Claude’s impressive flexibility (that splits on the countertop scene!) and the utter lack of any science in this science fiction flick. Steph has a hot take about Van Damme and Jess has an interesting story of something that happened to her over Easter weekend. Also we announce the winner of the 100th episode giveaway! The Cable Guy: It's Just Skin, Steven
Join Steph and Jess as we wrap up March Madness and celebrate our 100th episode with 1996’s The Cable Guy, the movie that honed our sense of humor. We still agree Chip (Ernie/Larry/Ricky) looked like a good time, he just kept picking the wrong lame-o’s to stalk. Who doesn’t like Medieval Times and karaoke? How about a sequel with "Ricky Ricardo" and the helicopter medic going skydiving for their YouTube channel? This concludes our broadcast day, click.🍿 Buy us a popcorn! ⬇️buymeacoffe.com/filmgazers

The Lighthouse: Ye Keep Doing That, Ye Gonna Go Blind
Join Steph and Jess as we descend into "March Madness" with 2019's The Lighthouse. A FTW (First Time Watch) for both of us that had us saying WTF. We agree the cinematography was chef's kiss and Willem Dafoe gave a stellar performance as a lil drunk moth, but it was also bat shit crazy. Moth shit crazy? Who shit? Crazy. 🍿 Buy us a popcorn!buymeacoffe.com/filmgazers

City of Angels: They See You When You're Sleeping..and You Know
Join Steph and Jess as we round up "Tragic Romance" with 1998's City of Angels, the movie that made Steph hate God. While we agree that on this rewatch it's defintely on the boring side, Jess still has rose colored nostalgia glasses on. We discuss THAT ending and announce what our 100th episode will be! May the nosy ass angels watch over us all.Buy Us A Popcorn 🍿https://buymeacoffe.com/filmgazers🎬 Movie Night Picks ⬇️https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls?ref_=ya_d_c_lists

Brokeback Mountain: Stemming the Rose @>-;--
Join Steph and Jess as we start Tragic Romance off with 2005's Brokeback Mountain. Yes, that gay cowboy movie. Steph has a hot take about Ennis and Jess has a hot take about the score. While we both agree it is as beautiful as it is depressing, it'll defintely be a while before we watch it again. Buy us a popcorn! 🍿https://buymeacoffee.com/filmgazers

Signs: Old Mcdonald Had a Firearm
Join Steph and Jess as we wrap up, "Are You There Aliens? It’s Us, Filmgazers” with 2002’s Signs. We agree it’s M Night’s best movie even though the dialogue is a little.. odd. We discuss the scenes that still made our stomach drop and Jess asks, which group are you in? Group one that believes in signs? Or group two that thinks it’s all random luck? Also, our “tragic romance” picks are announced!

114
War of the Worlds: No Robbie, Not Like Europe
Join Steph and Jess in the first installment in the series, Are You There Aliens? It's Us, Filmgazers, with 2005's War of the Worlds. The movie that even Spielberg admitted has a lame-o ending. While we agree Tom Cruise and Dakota Fanning were the stars of the show with their acting, the plot holes and blink and you miss it ending make this film miss the mark. Tom looks good running though. Also February's theme is announced! https://linktr.ee/filmgazers

Miracle on 34th Street: You're Literally Sucking the Magic Out of It
Join Steph and Jess as we wave the white flag and end our War on Christmas with this stinker of all stinkers, 1994’s Miracle on 34th Street. Nothing says Christmas like a court case? Steph feels totally vindicated on her hatred of this film and Jess agrees, Christmas with the Kranks ain’t looking too bad now. In the words of little Susan, “Nothing left to see but horse poop, and that doesn’t thrill me at all.” Indeed.
-
112
Christmas With the Kranks: The Spirit of Peer Pressure
Join Steph and Jess on our “ War on Christmas” with 2004’s Christmas with the Kranks, and spoiler alert: Jess still hates it. We agree it had some humorous parts- a botox’d Tim Allen eating peaches still made us chuckle. But the thought of anyone telling us what to do with our holiday still grinds our gears so we’ll keep this movie on the naughty list. And who tf spends $6000 on Christmas?!

Willow: There and Back Again, A Nelwyn's Tale
Join Steph and Jess for the finale of Fantasy and Fellowship with the Gentry family staple, Willow! While Steph proclaims it’s no Lord of the Rings, she does agree the combination of special effects and acting between the effervescent Val Kilmer and Warwick Davis are what make the film memorable. Jess still considers it a solid fantasy staple. What say you, peck?
-
109
LOTR: The Fellowship of the Ring; Potheads Save the World
Join Steph and Jess for some Fantasy & Fellowship with 2001’s Lord of the Ring : The Fellowship of the Ring. Extended Version. Basically the perfect movie, the end. Seriously, we agree that once you watch the extended version you’ll never go back to the theatrical ones. Jess proclaims Peter Jackson is now synonymous with Lotr and Tolkien and will never watch any other remake. Unless it’s an Aragorn + Arwen romance..directed by Peter Jackson… So come let us fire up that longbottom leaf, snack on some lembas bread and be glad we don't have to fight an orc today.
-
108
Sinners: Vampires on the Side
Join Steph and Jess as we wrap up Fangs for the Memories with 2025's Sinners, a beautiful drama with a splash of vampires. While we agree the horror aspect is greatly over hyped, the storytelling, acting, costumes and music is very well done. We could've actually done without the vampires altogether and just focused on the whole SmokeStack twins escaping Chicago crime bosses aspect. Maybe we'll just write our own fan fiction...
-
107
Blade: Open Season on Suckheads
We're back in the saddle again! Join Steph and Jess after an impromptu health hiatus with the first installment in the Fangs for the Memories, 1998's Blade. We discuss the epic soundtrack, the man candy, the Badassery of it all..we just want to be naughty vampire gods, dammit.
-

Death of a Unicorn: Billionaire Ass Kisser
Join Steph and Jess in the final installment of Jess's Fantastical Voyage with 2025's Death of a Unicorn. Also known as Paul Rudd's worst role ever as a piece of shit dad. We agree there's zero comedy in this horror/comedy, unless you count the CG unicorns. We just expected a little more camp from a revenge unicorn flick.
-
104
Powder: Waste of a Good Goldblum
Join Steph and Jess in the first installment of Jess's Fantastical Voyage with 1995's Powder. Disclaimer: We had no idea of the heinous charges the dirtbag director was convicted of when Jess picked this one. We watched it for free and don't recommend you paying to watch it either. Jess will still always think of Powder whenever she sees lightning, but we'll never watch this one again.
-
103
Red Dawn: I Wish A Russian Would
Join Steph and Jess in another episode of “Steph gets two movies confused” where she thought Red Dawn was actually Toy Soldiers. We agree its 80’s war propaganda at it’s finest and Steph can feel her blood turning more ‘Merican red by the end of it. Wolverines!

The War: Bowl Full of Sh*t
Join Steph and Jess as we bunker down for July and wait for WW3 with some war-adjacent movies, starting with 1994's The War. Rewatching makes us rethink what we considered "entertainment"as kids.. still a badass treehouse though.

Join Steph and Jess for 'You Talkin’ to May?' with 1998’s Mafia! Starring Bella’s dad and Jay Mohr. While we agree it’s no Hot Shots Part Deaux, it’s a solid “ok”. Well, the first half anyway. Especially if you like fart jokes. Mama mia!
-
98
The Swan Princess: Honk Honk B*tch
Join Steph and Jess in the last episode of April Animation with 1994’s The Swan Princess. Not The Princess and the Goblin, in case you were confused like Steph was. Although this was not the movie Steph originally thought she was choosing, we both agree the animation is still beautiful and the first half is pretty delightful. Its the lame villain, aka Janitor Willie, and the meh second half that brings it down. Stick around for May’s movie picks!
-
97
A Troll in Central Park: It Feels Delicious to Be So Vicious
Join Steph and Jess in this early childhood fave, 1994's A Troll in Central Park. Where everything is absolutely green and absolutely average. We agree the animation is still beautiful, and if you're in the 1-6 age range, ya know, the targeted audience, you'll probably think its fine.
-

Inherent Vice: Stoner Detective Extraordinaire
Join Steph and Jess for Mary Jane March with 2014’s Inherent Vice. Somehow this one slipped by us, but who even knows where they were in 2014? This one definitely deserves another watch as you have to not take your eyes away for one second or you’ll miss something. And by you, we mean Jess. Come pop a squat, take a toke, and let’s get groovy, man.
-
94
The Mothman Prophecies: And He Went Squeee All the Way Home
Join Steph and Jess in 2002's The Mothman Prophecies, as Stephanie faces her bridge collapsing fear. She realizes maybe she's actually more afraid of America's crumbling infastructure and faith in things made by man than the actual bridge falling down thing. We discuss Mothman theories and legends and how much we wanted to like this movie..but didn't.
-
93
Twisaga Finale: Breaking Dawn Part 1 & Deaux; Should I Start Calling You Dad?
Join Steph and Jess in the grand finale of The Twillight Saga: The Minisodes. How does Steph feel now that the Saga is over? We discuss how a movie made for teenage girls sure has a lot of vampire f*cking in it, and how a whole franchise can be ruined by one line.

Steph discovers the director’s spicy side gig whilst researching fun facts, and we discuss that while this is kind of a boring horror flick, it's actually a lovely lesbian tragedy. L’amour la mort..
-
