    LIMB: Ode to the Trees

    In this special episode of the Flinders Fringe Festival Podcast, we explore LIMB: Ode to the Trees, a breathtaking dance-theatre performance that brings the spirit of the forest to life. Created by a team of Mornington Peninsula artists, led by Sally Grage-Moore, Poul Grage, Ian Cuming, and Carole Patullo, LIMB intertwines dance, puppetry, live music, text, and stunning projection to tell the stories of four magnificent trees across the Mornington Peninsula, on Bunurong Country.     Opera Closets

    Opera Closets is an original, theatrical piece written and performed by multi award-winning Australian mezzo soprano Dimity Shepherd, where every outfit tells a story and every story has a song. Opera Closets is part of a 3-part project, generously supported by Mornington Peninsula Shire Performing Arts Development Grant 2023-24. A creative concept that examines the power of costume and dress to convey expression and conceived to engage the community by providing artistic and meaningful content that's thought provoking, arresting and educational. It includes an exhibition, a fashion forum and an original performance piece.     Sea Wolves Howl - The Inspiring Story

    IN todays episode of the Flinders Fringe podcast, we dive into the spirit and story of the SEA WOLVES HOWL Gala Performance. Claire Thorn, festival convenor, is joined by performance creator Carole Patullo, and some of the original sea wolves, Noa Smith Fletcher and mother Jen.  We learn about the Mount Martha Sea Wolves origin story, an intrepid intergenerational group of up to 60 Mornington Peninsula-based people, who meet on Mount Martha beach every morning at dawn.  They enter the sea, join hands, howl like wolves, and plunge into the often freezing water.  A ritual that was founded on community, support, and completely judgement free, the mornings have become a space that has saved peoples mental health and created life long connections.  Carole chats about adapting the Sea Wolves into a performance and the importance of capturing the spirit and essence of the Sea Wolves.
