For King and Country is a character-led and heartfelt scripted comedy-drama that tells the story of three young friends as they will be either torn apart or brought closer together by the prospect of compulsory national service.Set in the West Midlands, we follow their journey through the trials and tribulations that military training can bring but, more importantly, we see how the power of friendship can help people pull through difficult situations.Our trio first hear about the Government’s brand-new national service scheme through a news report. This has already got them worried and (some more than others) they start over-thinking what might come next. After an un-planned and un-wanted altercation with an army General, the next thing they know, they are all inadvertently signed up to complete national service. Will it be what they expected?
