“Throughout my childhood and early adulthood, I was surrounded by people—both in my community and within the criminal justice system—who manipulated my trust and choices. Over the years I cycled in and out of jail/prison, often influenced by peers and authority figures who did not have my best interests in mind. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve become much more aware of patterns of targeting, surveillance, and harassment in my life, and of how those dynamics shaped my behavior and mental health. I am now working to understand these experiences clearly, set healthy boundaries, and build a stable, law‑abiding life.”
