In this episode, Claire is joined by Eimear Byrne, IVF survivor and Counsellor in Training and founder of Moments of Sparkle which focuses on supporting women on their fertility journey. Eimear is a full-time accountant by day. However, her true passion lies in teaching mindfulness and sharing tools for positivity. She discovered mindfulness in 2015, during a difficult period in her life, upon the recommendation of a colleague at work. Struggling with mental health issues after two failed IVF cycles, mindfulness became a lifeline for her. Through mindfulness practices, she has learned to accept life as it comes, to show herself compassion and to cultivate patience. Letting go of the pursuit of perfection, she understands that life isn't flawless and mindfulness has transformed her outlook profoundly. During the pandemic, she embarked on a diploma course in mindfulness and positive psychology, which led to starting Moments of Sparkle. Sarah is a Chartered Senior Physiotherapist and co-founder of Aspire Physiotherapy. She qualified from University College Dublin with two first class honours degrees in MSc Physiotherapy and BSc Health and Performance Science. She has undertaken advanced training in pelvic and women’s health physiotherapy from developing a passion in this area early on in her career.  Sarah is also a Pilates instructor and Strength and Conditioning coach and enjoys using these qualifications in her treatment plans and classes. She specifically enjoys treating pregnancy and post-natal women, giving them the confidence to exercise and achieve their full potential.  Originally from Dublin, Sarah moved to Dungarvan with her fiance Colm and step-up Aspire Physiotherapy Clinic.  Common clients Sarah treats are: women during pregnancy, post-natal women, incontinence, prolapse, defecation issues, pelvic pain, scar treatment, abdominal separation and more. In this episode, Claire is joined by Vick Ind, a horticulturist and business owner.  Her business Individual Plant Nursery, is a small plant nursery based in west Waterford that specialises in rare, uncommon and quirky plans. All Vick’s plants are produced on-site from seed or cuttings & grown without rubbish applied or added.  Vick began working as a gardener at Lismore Castle Gardens in 2013 & over the next decade honed her trade, eventually taking on the role of ornamental gardens supervisor.     S1 EP2 | Lorraine Shanahan, Art Therapist at The Lismore Clinic

    Welcome to Episode 2 of Good Honest Talk! In this episode, Claire is joined by Lorraine Shanahan, Art Therapist at The Lismore Clinic in Co. Waterford, holds a BSc honours degree in Fine Art from Liverpool University and a Masters Degree in Art Therapy from the Crawford College of Art and design in Cork.  She is a member of the Irish Association of Creative Arts Therapists (IACAT), and has a great deal of experience of working with both adults and children.  Lorraine has been working there in private practice since 2008. I work mainly with children and teenagers but have worked with adults. Since 2014 I work as an Art Therapist for Dungarvan and Rinn School Completion Programme. She works as an Art Therapist in the clinic for Oasis house women's refuge, Solas cancer support and Carers Ireland. For the past couple of years has been creatively celebrating International Women's Day in the Foroige building in Lismore. “I create a safe, welcoming space and invite women to come along, get crafty, enjoy refreshments and support each other and maybe new friendships are formed.” Lorraine also loves working with groups of women and this year she ran 2 Art Therapy group workshops with women from Ukraine and women living in direct provision -  IPAS kindly funded by Waterford Area Partnership.
