Marilyn & Friends
Show overview: This podcast touches the topics of femininity and mainly masculinity. Two women in their mid 20s discuss gender roles and gender norms questioning where they have gone and their pros and cons. While some women may want strong masculinity to return, others do not mind the switch up! Is there an imbalance and how will this affect our future society and generation? Many topics are tackled like dating, careers, history in gender norms and our future generation!Episode overview: Introduction begins with me welcoming our listeners and introducing ourselves. I introduce the gender roles topic and start off with questioning what masculinity/femininity means to us.The topics discussed are careers, women in men careers and should that affect your femininity. The current dating world is discussed and men switching roles thinking "they're the prize". The absence of courtship is discussed. Furthermore, we speak on men and fashion. Is caring too much about what you have on a feminine trait? We talk about what we have seen as masculinity as children and how it affects our outlook today. Finally the topic of what is in store for our future with children and overall is discussed. Maybe there will be no gender norms or roles. Maybe there will be a sense of oneness in people. We question if that is what we would like for our future. We wrap the conversation up by expressing that women taking on some masculine roles have benefited us in the long run!
