Home Is Where The Body Is

Hi, I’m Jenn. I’m AuDHD and live with cPTSD, OCD, Ehlers Danlos syndrome, and POTS. I grew up in a religious cult and spent years searching for love and belonging. I eventually learned the home I was seeking wasn’t a place or another person, but a relationship with my body, nervous system, and myself. In this podcast, I share lived experiences of trauma, inner child care, and learning to give myself safety. I’m not a mental health professional, just a very marginalized engineer offering reflection and companionship. Content warnings provided.

In this episode, I explore how recognizing the parentification of my childhood allowed me to leave behind obligatory caretaking in adult relationships. I reflect on how this shaped my journey toward being able to honestly say that home is wherever I am right now.
