Dr. Tabatha Barber on Faith, Medicine & Real Healing
Send us Fan MailYour life can look successful—and still feel like survival mode.In this episode, I sit down with Dr. Tabatha Barber, a triple board-certified physician turned functional medicine leader, to talk about surrender, shame, and what real healing actually looks like.We unpack her journey—from teenage mother to physician—and the prayer that changed the course of her life. We also dive into why traditional healthcare often becomes “sick care,” and how root-cause healing (hormones, thyroid, gut-brain, stress) connects back to mind, body, and faith. Her message is simple: your body isn’t broken—your approach is.👉 Start her program here: https://book.fasttofaith.com/bonus#row-pWUq-iXRa48(I just purchased this myself—let’s go through it together.)Read more on Dr. Tabatha:Dr. Tabatha Barber is a triple board-certified physician — and one of the most distinctive voices in faith-based women's health today. Her story begins where most would have stopped. A teenage mother and high school dropout, she rebuilt her life through faith and perseverance — earning her doctorate and certifications before realizing the very system she trained in was missing the whole point.Today, as owner and medical director of Her Higher Health, creator of the Fast to Faith Coaching Academy, 40 Day program, supplement line, and international bestselling book Fast to Faith, Dr. Tabatha brings one message to every stage and microphone: your body is not broken — your approach is.She is known for doing what no one else does: mapping Scripture directly with how the body works — showing women that Romans 12:2 is the original neuroplasticity protocol, that Genesis 2:7 describes the gut-brain connection, and that God designed healing to happen in community. Using her signature FAITH IT™ Method, she helps women understand that Scripture and science have been saying the same thing all along: true healing starts in the mind, moves through the body, and is sustained by faith. If this resonated, share with someone who needs it, subscribe, comment, and follow us @atfortifywellness.Where are you being called to surrender control right now?Support the showFollow Fortify Wellness on our new Tik Tok & Instagram platforms @atfortifywellness. Mental Health, Body Image & Self-Worth (ft. Andrea Tamasi)
Send us Fan MailHealing doesn’t click into place one morning—it’s a loop. Old triggers, new tools, and a little more self-trust each time. In this episode, I sit down with Brooklyn-based creator and mental health advocate Andrea Tamasi for a candid conversation about rebuilding self-worth after growing up with body shame and carrying the quiet belief that love is conditional. We get into the real-life experiences behind the content: how family comments around food and fitness can shape a child’s nervous system, what it actually looks like to start advocating for yourself without burning bridges, and why the feeling Andrea wants people to walk away with is simple—accepted. We also talk about her move from a small town to New York City, and how stepping into a bigger world can help you unlearn the limiting beliefs about who you’re allowed to be.We also pull back the curtain on influencer life—the reality of going viral, the instability of brand deals, the pressure to always be “on,” and how to handle emotional boundaries when strangers trauma dump in your DMs. Andrea shares how she protects her energy while still guiding people toward resources, along with the small, practical tools that help her get through hard days. We dive into EMDR therapy, trauma healing, and the powerful shift that happens when you finally believe: it wasn’t my fault. If this conversation resonated with you, it’s likely because you’re craving a more integrated approach to your mental health. That’s exactly why I’m building Fortify Wellness—a platform that brings together therapy, coaching, fitness, and mindfulness into one system designed to support your mind, body, and daily life.Make sure you’re following along for updates on Fortify, and subscribe to the podcast for more honest conversations like this. And if someone came to mind while listening, send this to them—these are the conversations that matter most.About AndreaAndrea Tamasi is a Brooklyn-based content creator and mental health advocate whose digital platform has reached millions across TikTok and Instagram. What Burnout Actually Feels Like (Early-Stage Founder Edition) | Mini Burnout Series
Send us Fan MailBurnout doesn’t always look like a breakdown. Sometimes it’s waking up, opening your email, and feeling your entire body flood with stress. This is Bettina’s Mini Burnout Series—and today, I’m sharing what founder burnout looks like for me in real time as an early-stage female founder balancing product, content, a team, and the start of a VC raise. When things move slower than you want, patience becomes the hardest job in the room—and the pressure can feel constant.I walk through the simple reset that helped me today: a walk, a visual mindfulness practice, and reaching out for support. Because sometimes burnout hides inside routines that look “healthy”—like overworking, overtraining, and under-eating.We also get into what sustainable wellness actually requires: asking for help, taking breaks before you crash, and retraining your mind through small habits like gratitude.Try this with me: 4 things you’re grateful for in the morning, 4 at night. If you want real tools—not surface-level positivity—follow, share, and subscribe to stay with me through this series.Support the showFollow Fortify Wellness on our new Tik Tok & Instagram platforms @atfortifywellness. Your Burnout Is Trying to Tell You Something: A Psychiatrist Gets Real About Stress & Survival Mode
Send us Fan MailBurnout can look like a 2 pm crash, a shorter fuse with people you love, and a slow loss of passion that you can’t quite explain. Our guest, Dr. Rozina—psychiatrist and integrative medicine clinician—opens up about the car accident that exposed her own limits and the gratitude practice that helped her rebuild from the inside out. We trace her path from early academic setbacks to a career at the crossroads of psychiatry, functional medicine, and prevention, and we get real about why our insurance-first system still treats illness faster than it funds wellness.Together we unpack the hidden drivers of stress for Gen Z and young professionals: an evolutionary bias toward threat, fear-saturated media, and social comparison that keeps the nervous system on high alert. Instead of pathologizing normal feelings, we talk emotional literacy—naming emotions, normalizing them, and responding with skill. You’ll hear three simple signals of burnout to watch for (energy, irritability, passion), a traffic light model for knowing when to push or pause, and a practical Mind CPR method: Calm your body, Process what you can control, Respond with one wise action you can repeat. We also spotlight precision care that meets real life. Sometimes a “normal” panel misses the root cause—like low ferritin hiding behind fatigue—or standard advice ignores adrenal stress. Dr. Rozina explains how targeted testing and lifestyle tweaks can restore momentum without overwhelm. If you’ve felt the system is too rushed to hear your full story, this conversation offers tools you can use today and language to advocate for the care you deserve. If this resonated, follow the show, share it with a friend who’s running on empty, and leave a review to help others find it. Your Body Will Force the Reset: Seizure Recovery, Burnout & Choosing Yourself Daily
Send us Fan MailA flashing light, a broken mug, and a hard truth: when your body whispers, listen before it screams. That’s where we start as Bettina opens up about a recent grand mal seizure, the foggy postictal hours, and the surprising sadness that trailed the medical drama. No hype, no hustle—just a real-time reset that turned “push through it” into “pause for it,” and a practical path to heal the nervous system without shame. We unpack what choosing rest actually takes in a world obsessed with productivity. Bettina breaks down the small but brave steps that made the difference: canceling plans, working from the couch, letting emails wait, and letting love in when her partner’s fear made the stakes clear. From there we tackle holiday stress with divorced families, the guilt-and-gifts spiral, and why lowering the bar can reveal what matters most. Presence over pressure isn’t a slogan—it’s a health plan. Then we tear up the “New Year, New Me” contract and replace it with something kinder and smarter: daily do-overs. You don’t need a date to start again; you need permission to be human. We share simple tools—walks, breath, silence, the power of no—that help protect your nervous system and rebuild your life from the inside out. Along the way you’ll hear what’s coming next: deeper conversations with experts in functional medicine, legal protection and boundaries, and creators willing to tell the truth you won’t find in highlight reels. If you’re carrying fatigue, burnout, or grief, this is your reminder that rest is not quitting and slowing down is not failure. Tap play for grounded strategies, honest stories, and a community that believes in tiny wins that compound. If it helps, share it with someone who needs a do-over today, and don’t forget to subscribe, leave a review, and join us as we get fortified—one real step at a time.Support the showFollow Fortify Wellness on our new Tik Tok & Instagram platforms @atfortifywellness. Building Resilience and Community with Sage + Sound's Owners, Lacey Tisch and Lauren Zucker
Send us Fan MailEver wondered how life's greatest challenges can become the catalyst for transformative change? Join us as we sit down with Lacey Tisch and Lauren Zucker, the visionary co-owners of Sage + Sound. Discover how these formidable women turned their struggles into a thriving wellness sanctuary on the Upper East Side, emphasizing the power of authentic connections and a supportive community in their healing process.About Lacey Tisch Lacey was born with a rare congenital syndrome that causes a slew of medical setbacks, some of which continue to affect her health today. Throughout the years, she received many external treatments. Seven years ago, she began dealing with medical PTSD...a result of years of being poked and prodded by doctors to “fix” her. The medical PTSD was exacerbated by being unhappy in her job and actively engaging in her alcoholism. She could not figure out a way forward. After getting sober, Lacey wanted to find remedies that didn’t require taking medication or having procedures. She developed a major interest in exploring wellness. She would always ask Lauren and other friends, “who do you go to for this?”, “what products do you use?”, and “where can I find XYZ?” As a native New Yorker, she knew these answers would mean spending a lot of time traveling throughout the city in search of these highly sought-after practitioners and wellness techniques. This felt stressful in and of itself. Thus, she wanted to provide a space where customers could come to access all their wellness needs under one roof. Lacey is proud to live a sober life and resides on the Upper East Side with her sons Lucas and Aby, husband Jonathan, and her two dogs Maggie and Ollie. About Lauren Zucker Lauren always thought her life would be lived linearly, that things would go according to a certain plan that included work, marriage, and kids. And then, life happened. Several people close to her were struggling with addiction and were in denial about it. She was also going through a painful divorce. After years of trying to ‘fix’ and help others, she realized, ultimately, she could only change herself. She made the decision to fully commit to her own path of healing. This sparked curiosity about all things self-development, healing, and wellness. She met with practitioners and self-discovery experts all over the world in search of peace and happiness, reaching the conclusion that a sense of community and connecting with like-minded people was the most integral part of her healing journey. In a city where everything is at your fingertips, why was self-care so difficult to experience in one place? This gave her the idea to create a brand where the best healers, practitioners, and brands could exist under a single roof, creating a type of community she had once searched for. She is excited to be helping people connect with themselves and others through a mind, body, and soul connection.
