    Better Together Episode 2

Enjoy this eye-opening episode where our Global CEO, Christina Foxwell joins our Managing Director of Canada, Chrissy Cordingley, to share recent research published on how connection drives performance and profits. Gallup recently released their State of the Global Workplace: 2023 Report, which shares this statistic: Only 23% of employees across the world would consider themselves to be thriving at work. Most people, 59%, believe they are already quietly quitting. And 18% are loudly quitting. The reason? According to this study, the number one reason employees are quiet quitting is a lack of engagement and positive culture. Divide and conquer is no longer an effective strategy for the boardroom; the future is about becoming BETTER TOGETHER. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/christina-foxwell/message

The Glass Angel Ep 4, Heal the Mind - Heal the Body

In this weeks Episode of Lessons of the Glass Angel we are going to chat about Healing the Mind to Heal the Body. When our mind is in fear, pain and overload we are more likely to develop illness in our bodies and less likely to navigate life in a well, wise and creative way. My Guest today is Chrissy Cordingley CRSP CIHC. Chrissy has healed her mind to Heal her Body. Chrissy will share on:1. Healing (inside - the mind) support Mind body connection and body healing2. Bringing shame to light is a key to healing, growth and why do we need a safe space? How can it benefit us? 3. How healing can impact our career and our perspectives on our worthiness and abilities4. Love can make a difference to transform your life5. Learnings from reading the Glass Angel Here is a bit on Chrissy.A former manager recently described me as a "knowledgeable, out-of-the-box thinker (creative) who is attentive and applied. Applied means that you get your head in the game, you apply your skills and heart to the team and work that needs to be done".Coach, writer, speaker, safety nerd, and leadership professional with a heart for leaving people in a better condition than when I found them. I believe the key to great communication is building trust and fostering supportive relationships. As a transformation coach, I serve individuals and organizations that are looking to create positive, lasting change. For example, your business may benefit from communication coaching for your committees, helping them become the most purposeful and highly effective assets within your organization. Transformation coaching is highly valuable in the change management process; especially during or after large-scale events. Think about times of restructuring, or a major loss, or even consider the flip side such as exponential growth. Although growth is positive it can come with growing pains that dilute your team's clarity, loyalty, and resilience. I also work with individuals whether they are experiencing their own challenges such as a career transformation, a personal shift in life, or healing from uncertain or unforeseen circumstances. When life throws us a curveball it helps greatly to be connected to a coach. Currently, I create healing, wellness, and transformation content. If you are seeking written material for your newsletter, blog, or magazine I would love to work with you. Please see my Featured section and newsfeed for examples of my work. I currently host my own podcast The Flare Up Show which tackles serious topics with brevity and shares people's stories of healing and transformation from various circumstances. If you have a story the world needs to hear and be inspired by, please connect with me about a potential interview. I am a trained and highly experienced speaker that is available to speak at your next event. Topics that are most requested are discovering our motivation, flexibility, and resilience, building healthy relationships at work, and leading with empathy. The Glass Angel Book Launch - Why, How and the story behind the book!

Welcome to the Book Launch Episode of The Glass Angel.During this book launch, you will hear from Christina about her journey, WHY she wrote this book and how it can help people lead a more fulfilled life. One that is better with others because we are better in ourselves.Christina is a Performance and Transformation coach based in Sydney Austalia. She runs a successful performance improvement practice called Ignite Purpose where she helps leaders and their people be better together. Over the last 10 years she has recognised it's not what we know that help us lead, love and live our best life, it's who we are! Here is more about WHY the Glass Angel:The Glass Angel details the years I lived under the weight of unfounded and incredibly harmful notions based on my story. This book is part memoir, part metaphor, part inspirational how-to for anyone who has ever felt like the world was against them. In it, I share my journey from the darkest moments of my life to finding myself, learning to forgive the past and seek light and clarity and let these lead the way forward. My story will open your eyes and mind to what's possible. It proves that even when you are at your absolute lowest and you fear you'll never find your way out of despair, shame, or a lifetime of guilt, there is hope on the other side. While there are many reasons for me to feel sorry for myself, yet I chose another path - one that helped me heal from the trauma and discover who I am and what I need to do to feel comfortable in my skin and heal from all the things that weighed me down for years. I found a path forward. I made a pact with myself to stop living the life of a 'broken angel' and embrace what I call my alchemy. That's how this book came to be. It's my way of helping others who've known pain and make it to the other side.I am giving readers permission to not only survive but thrive by igniting their own alchemy and using it to transform their lives from the inside out. Only when we are healed can we Lead, Love and Live a fulfilled life.

The Glass Angel - Unlocking Compassion

Welcome to: Ignite Purpose with Christina -, I am your host Christina Foxwell and in this Season we are going to Lessons from the Glass Angel, Being better together. This episode is called – Unlocking compassionThe purpose of this podcast is to support you with stories and tools to lean into your healing and transformation, to help you step from Surviving into Thriving. Only you can do it.This week let’s explore how to UNLOCK Compassion? What is Compassion and WHY is it so needed in our lives?Let’s first define compassionWhat is compassion? It’s a place of feeling deeply with others, a place of holding space for someone when they are going through difficult times (Ups and Downs).Compassion allows us to connect with others (Hear, see and value them). In compassion we can heal in our relationships, move forward with wisdom and a since of inner peace.Compassion is not just feeling with others it also includes a desire to help others be free from suffering, there is a real desire to help.Compassion is a form of LOVE.What is the impact of a lack of compassion?Firstly, we need to understand what creates a lack of compassion in our own lives:1. It’s when we have had to toughen up in our world, so we expect other to do the same2. We are incredibly hard on ourselves and therefore we are just as hard on others3. When we are stressed, we can come from a place of armour and a need to fight, fly or freeze – very emotionally disconnected places4. When we are Burnt-out we just don’t have the energy to work with someone else’s challenges5. Or maybe we have not had the opportunity to develop our emotional intelligence and there for have lower empathy. If we have low empathy Low empathy… it can look like:a. Being hard and judgmental on othersb. Can’t lead ourselves and our emotions regularly are out of controlc. We ignore or are oblivious to the feelings of othersd. They get frustrated by the emotions in otherse. They can’t admit their accountability or wrongdoingOk so finally I am going to simply call it out, if we have had to have a lack of compassion for ourselves (to survive in our world) and have sat in judgment on our life, our decision and our story, we are less likely to want to connect deeply with others and show great compassion. Our Compassion tank is EMPTY!Here is how it impacts our world:1. We won’t be able to accept things because we could see acceptance as giving up on our perspective of being RIGHT!2. We will need to PROVE our worth and our own measure because that EMPTY tank we carry around inside feels hollow and drives us forward3. We will struggle in our relationships with each other as a failure to meet our standards might mean danger to us and encourage our JUDGE to take over and disconnect from others. This means a lack of forgiveness and the ability to move our relationship forward4. We struggle in work partnerships because we expect our peers to be like us, to know what we do and to show us they are credible. We forget that everyone is human and that we are learning together.5. We struggle to sit in discomfort with others, truly listen and connect deeply. We see discomfort as weakness and want to control or avoid these moments with logic and judgment.6. We mostly don’t know how to show ourselves the compassion needed to simply be who we are without our armour, imperfect and beautifully human. In summary, if we don’t have compassion we create a world of separation, loneliness and continued cycles of trauma and fear. We create a world where we are not better together. We are called to together as a human race in this time. So, it has to start with fostering compassion, which starts inside each of us.So as part of an alchemy practice that is without doubt critical it’s the ability to develop a peaceful mind, foster an open heart through self-love and compassion. Maybe the most important is to realise we are Simply HUMANS being together.

Welcome to: Ignite Purpose with Christina -, I am your host, Christina Foxwell, and this Season we will focus on Lessons from the Glass Angle, Being better together. The purpose of this podcast is to support you with stories and tools to lean into your healing and transformation, to help you step from Surviving into Thriving. Only you can do it.What is Alchemy? It’s the magical process of transformation. It’s when we can transform our mind, we can transform our story, and we can transform how we show up to live our potential. The gift of Alchemy can be summed up in a few ways:1.You are precious, and your essence is beautiful. The only way to unlock it is to go through a process of refinement and love2.You need to start in yourself to be the change in your world3.Love is the key; it’s not the love you give others; it’s the love you give yourself first. Why not explore with me as I share how I have healed and transformed so that you can do it also? What I have learnt is the only way to re-write my story is to:1.Remember I am worthy of love; I am good enough2.My story is in the past, and I am today able to be safe to look at my shame and retell my story3.Only when I look at my shame and understand my fear can I start to untangle the roots that keep my story locked in a cycle of repeat. What’s next?
