The week between Christmas and New Year’s Eve in 2000 was exceptionally cold throughout southern and central Indiana. It was on one of those nights that Karen Jo Smith disappeared and was murdered. 

Karen Jo Smith disappeared just two days after Christmas in 2000. Her ex-husband went on the run and her family immediately suspected he killed her.

Season 2 of Indy Justice investigates the December 2000 disappearance and murder of Karen Jo Smith. Although her body was never found, prosecutors were still able to secure a conviction.
