International Podcast Day began with a kickoff session with the founders Steve Lee, Daniel J. Lewis, Dave Lee and Ray Ortega. Covered in the session is the history of International Podcast Day, the event schedule and a peak of the content subjects over the next 31 plus hours and the first International Podcast Day Gratitude award.

Darrell Darnell, owner of Golden Spiral Media Podcasts, is joined by a number of fellow podcasters during this session. They cover a range of topic in the category of television and film podcasting. If you’re into TV and film, this is a session you will definitely enjoy.

Members from the Podcast Day team take over the hour session. We talk about the state of podcasting, what the future may hold, and what Podcast Day means to all of us. We invite others to the Blab and take their questions and comments.

James Parkinson (A-League Show) and Adam (In All Airness) talk about the power of sports podcasting and how fans of the team or league can help grow your audience. They dive into how to connect with the fans, the need to provide quality content, staying true to your fan base, and how to cover a league.

Emilio Cano of emilcar.fm runs a podcast network in Spain and joins the Podcast Day for the first ever non-English session! Emilio covers the awakening of podcasting in Spain, what the growth means for the listeners of podcasts, and Spanish metapodcasts. He also runs through some recording options from the desktop and mobile.

Mike and Izabela Russell, the dynamic duo behind New Media Europe and UK Podcasters, join the conversation to talk about the growth of podcasting in the UK and the recent success of New Media Europe. Podcasting in the UK continues to grow thanks to their efforts. They even have a special guest on their session - their beautiful new baby!

Sarah Williams from Tough Girl Podcast brings her energy and passion from her podcast to the Podcast Day event. She talks about overcoming personal challenges and shares some personal stories of success, failure, doubt, and accomplishment. Sarah welcomes guests to the Blab to talk about their current personal challenges.

Simon Duckert and Henning Kraus, the first ever German podcasters to join the Podcast Day stream, dive into niche podcasting in the field of science communication and science dissemination. The growing success of niche podcasting is a growing topic of discussion.

The Aussie Tech Heads share a tremendous amount of information in their hour session. They breakdown the process they use for structuring, recording, publishing, and sharing their podcast. From mic setup and web design to co-host duties and podcast publishing, they really cover it all.

Colin Gray, The Podcast Host, is joined by three fellow podcasting friends to share their ideas on how to spread the word of podcasting. Topics covered include how to get more people into podcasting (both listeners and creators), introducing the fun of podcasting to people, and looking at the educational side of podcasting.

Borys (Podkasty.info) and Lukas were monumental is bringing Podcast Day to Poland. They took to the streets to spread the word of podcasting. In his session, they breakdown the growth of podcasting happening in Poland at the moment, how to promote your podcast in Poland, and share their stories of success.

Alejandro Csome, owner of argentinapodcastera.com/ar, is joined with friends to discuss the growth of podcating in Argentina. As owners of a podcast production enterprise and podcast network, they are well situated to share their stories of Argentinian podcasts. The community and demand for podcasts in Argentina continues to impress.

Jeffrey Bradbury of TeacherCast is a guru in the subject of educational podcasting. In this session, he is joined with a few friends to dissect the power of podcasting in the classroom, how a podcast can transform your room, and how to get kids podcasting. Incorporating podcasts into your classroom is easy and beneficial.

Yannick Ilunga from 360 Entrepreneur joins the Podcast Day celebration from Finland to talk about leveraging and building authority through your podcast. He provides a number of tips for engaging with you audience, building credibility, and gaining traction in your particular field of interest.

In this session, he and friends join the Blab to share their personal stories on the topic of “Because of My Podcast”. Stories range from landing new jobs and speaker opportunities to building friendships and personal development.

Troy Heinritz and Wayne Henderson of The Packers Fan Podcast share their story of how traveling to sporting events can improve your podcast and bring a new element to the podcast. During the second half of the Blab, they record a live podcast to demonstrate how live podcasting works and how much fun it can be.

Amy Robles, the voice behind Think Enriched, is joined by friends to dive into building a local podcast community. In the session, they discuss the importance of building a local community with fellow podcasters, why we need to put time into such a group, and some tips and tricks for creating a meetup community.
