By creating this podcast; there will be the problematization of what is the homophobic culture purported by Rap Music as a whole and how Rage Music has essentially influenced a better, safer, and more creative space for artists to work in a free range of motion with almost any topic discussed within the sub-genre.

Description: In the podcast I discuss the commercialization of the “rage” aesthetic within the Rap Music Genre. Our modern world derives entertainment from some extremely questionable characters of which make some decently laughable decisions and remarks. As an artist contributing to this sub genre I do believe that there is a small percentage of people working to change the definition of “Rage Rap” which today seems to be less than applicable to an average listener. Artists like Lil Uzi Vert & Playboi Carti seem to be tasked with carrying out this aesthetic in its majority; they don’t do treacherous...but there needs to be a better representation of emotion and rageful emotion WITHOUT any questionable intentions whatsoever. To create a safe space for us real “ragers” we must adapt to our surroundings by blending in with those who are placed at the top of a pyramid that don’t truly think the way they say they do. Being involved in rage is a popular topic as of right now, so it only makes sense that individuals would start misusing the term rage within music which ultimately redefined it when it was classified as a sub-genre. Instead of being an incredible adaption to rap; rage rap has become just as regular as rap in general is viewed as. To solve this there must be a realization of commercialization within the sub-genre. Sponsors sucker their way in to most of the rage culture which depletes the point of rage altogether. As I analyze an article written about Commercialization and how there is a basic part and a genuine part to rage rap I start to realize I am apart of that very small percentage of artists trying to re-gain the definition of Rage and bring it back to it’s former glory. Rage is so much more than just a sub-genre, it is an extension to the emotion of anger, and to be feeling such a way means that all of that feeling better be expressed in finite detail especially to prove your point to being filled with rage at that moment.
