Late Stage: Episode 9 Featuring Yamashita Project

Yamashita Project just released new pieces on April 15th and April 29th. Yamashita Project is a clothing brand rooted in rediscovery. Named after the founder’s grandmother’s maiden name, Yamashita represents a family story nearly lost to time and now revived as a symbol of identity and continued heritage. The “Project” reflects both the evolution of the brand and the ongoing journey of reconnecting with culture. Every piece is part exploration, part reflection—an effort to honor the past while shaping something new. Their message, “bring color back,” is an invitation to see life fully: to embrace your story, express yourself boldly, and reconnect with the parts of your identity that deserve to be reclaimed. Yamashita Project creates clothing with intention, celebrating the beauty of growth, heritage, and becoming.

Jordy explains his start DJing in 2022, delivering pizzas, teaching himself, and gaining confidence after seeing a wack DJ at a Fashion Week party. After posting mixes and a radio-style series on SoundCloud, he moved in 2024 for school and began DJing house parties, learning to adapt to crowds instead of rigidly planning sets. He discusses refresh habits for USBs, differences between parties and artist events, skepticism about DJ “discourse,” and how social media and economic pressures push DJs to self-promote and manufacture viral moments, often at the expense of artistic integrity and organic growth.
