Jim Blair and Steve Dundis are two damn good-looking older gentlemen -- 71 and 80 years old -- who are interested solely in intellectual pursuits and enlightening the world. Actually, each of their psychiatrists suggested that they engage in some worthwhile and productive activity following their retirement from the faculty of Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago, so they banded together like brothers to create the podcast, “Learning for the Hell of it.” They now say that if they had known up front the technical knowledge and preparation involved, they would probably have stuck with their hobbies of cliff-diving and bare-knuckle boxing. But they decided to forge ahead in spite of their selves.“Learning for the Hell of It” has been created to explore anything and everything about learning, from reading bathroom graffiti to solving the meaning of the universe.
