How Can You Read This? There's No Pictures!
"To be or not be, that is the question." - Hamlet"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times..." - A Tale of Two Cities"When you read a book as a child, it becomes a part of your identity in a way that no other reading in your whole life does." - You've Got MailThere is something about the written word that sparks imagination and roots itself deep within us. Classical literature is the same but with one exception, that it also presents a vast vocabulary beyond what our modern world offers in today's age. Words that portray images so vivid one can't help but see them clearly. Rich and bold, the classics hold a world that should be ventured into on a regular basis. The Scarlet Letter is just such a classic. In this episode we delve into this book, its story, characters, themes, and settings in our very first Literature spotlight. We hope you'll come along for the conversation.Music from #Uppbeat (free for Creators!):https://uppbeat.io/t/aaron-paul-low/lemon-merengueLicense code: UKUY1QHRM4FN0NQZSupport the show

He Looks All Hairy and Slobbery To Me
"Does your dog bite?""No.""Nice doggy."(dog bites)"I thought you said your dog did not bite?""That is not my dog."- The Pink Panther (1976)Dogs, Canis familiaris in Latin, are man's best friend. Kids the world over desire a puppy and constant companion. Families get dogs for a variety of reasons, for work around the farm, for showing, for guarding their property or other animals, to keep them company, or just to be the family pet. But what happens if your dog is not trained properly, or at all?In this episode we explore our journey of how to train your dog (kinda like a dragon, but cuter). We delve into some of the signs that let us know our dog is needing some training, what you can expect, how training your dog can significantly improve the relationship you have with your lovable pet, which traits we think are cute but are actually your dog trying to assert dominance over you, the order of the pack and how that manifests itself in your dogs personality, and much, much more. Training your dog is hard work. Persistent work. But worth it. We hope you'll enjoy listening in as we delve into a topic that affects so many of us. And we hope you'll learn something new along the way as well.Music from #Uppbeat (free for Creators!):https://uppbeat.io/t/aaron-paul-low/lemon-merengueLicense code: UKUY1QHRM4FN0NQZSupport the show

So It Begins
We are Andrea Engi and Aryn Werezak and we love to learn. And we also love to talk and laugh. We figured a podcast would be a great way to do all three at the same time and share our love of learning with others who are in this same stage of life as we are. We both believe that learning is a lifelong skill and we have the capacity to learn new things no matter what stage of life we find ourselves in.In this first episode we explore the nature of learning, why we decided to start a podcast and also share a bit about ourselves and who we are.We hope you'll come along with us for the ride as we start this journey.Music from #Uppbeat (free for Creators!):https://uppbeat.io/t/aaron-paul-low/lemon-merengueLicense code: UKUY1QHRM4FN0NQZSupport the show
