She started her nursing career as an Emergency Department Nurse at Grady Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. She has been residing in Southern California for the past 20 years and has worked both in the private and government sectors of healthcare. She currently serves as the Vice President of the Council of Black Nurses-LA Chapter, Inc. She works as a Nurse Manager for a medical surgical telemetry unit in Los Angeles.
