    Transition to Adulthood | Episode 6

    What is adolescence?  How do we transition from childhood to adulthood? These are questions we all have asked or are asking ourselves. Having a support system to support you helps make these transitions smoother, but so does communication.

    Trying to speak to providers is scary, especially if you grew up in a situation where communication wasn't very common. In this episode we discuss the importance of communication with your providers and people in general. We address the fear you may feel and the problems that come with poor communication.

    In this episode we discuss how homelessness and mental health coincide with each other. We also discuss how to make it RARE, BRIEF, and ONE TIME. Special Guest: Kurt Crays is the CEO of EUMA (Erie United Methodist Alliance), and works closely to eradicate homelessness in NW PA.

    This episode focuses on LGBTQ+ supports and how to be an ally to young community members that are looking for acceptance and understanding. Special Guest: Michelle Wolf, Retired director of residential treatment facility for adults (RTFA) ,and background in focusing on LGBTQ+ therapy. Being a trans woman herself, she continues to advocate for the communities needs.

    Not all young people know that there are programs to help them with learning or emotional difficulties. In this episode we explore what those programs are and how to find and use them in an educational manner.

    This episode of Mental Matters focuses on summer opportunities for teens and young adults. It also focuses on setting boundaries and knowing how to be safe when you are in uncomfortable situations.
